When I went to the store to buy my first wheel for my Dreamcast, the original MadCatz model was on clearance because the MC2 had already been released. So I bought two of the original model for less than the price of one. They were popular when we played racing games, so much so that there was practically a line to play next. Not much later, when I went back to buy a third wheel, they no longer had the original and the MC2 was already on clearance so I bought two, again for less than the price of one. Actually, I regret not buying four of 'em (I think they had about six on the shelf) because they are even better than the original MadCatz.
Well, compared to my chances/options living in Brazil, you're kinda Rockefeller, yes.
Thanks a lot for sharing such cool stories and memories, much appreciated here.

Sega -> Empty pockets + some share of fear about the support of the console given the previous "happenings".
Sony -> Full pockets + a handful of inflated announced specs + extremly successful previous gen console + long term support.
A lot of people ended up waiting for the PS2 (aside from the Nintendon'ters always expecting for the super Maaaaario).

hahaha, you should have kept one for meee!

Sorry, my bad. I "forgot" about that. I wouldn't push my luck either.

Their cheapo packaging is something to my dislike. Even the cover art of the N64 is shite compared to most of the Saturn and PS1 games. I don't like those cheapo 3D smiley idiots looking at me, if you know what I mean.
But World Driver Championship is a must IMO.

We would need to build one or build a proper converter for the PS1/SAT analog controllers (usually those crappy converters only work for digital mode) and hack the game to support such protocol. At least we have the 32X version to be hacked...

What about the Genesis mouse? Wouldn't that be analog? Maybe a steering wheel could be built from that or something.

Here are the pix of my Pelican wheel. I think it's the same as yours, just a different label. I wish the four-way shifter was an H-gate but I guess the game would need to be programmed for it, too.

I do like to use the Arcade Racer for some games. I prefer it for motorcycle games like Manx TT and also for Wipeout. A steering wheel just seems odd for a motorcycle or a spaceship but the Arcade Racer is more like handlebars than the other wheels that I have. I have a pair of Arcade Racers that I bought in a second-hand shop for a mere seven dollars each, just too good of a deal to pass up.

I also really like the 3D pad for racing games though I didn't at first until a friend showed me how he used it. You need to hold it straight down all the time then you can move it left or right to whatever degree you need to turn. It's really quite excellent. I even used the Saturn 3D pad to play all the way through V-Rally for Playstation using an adapter; you really need an analog controller to play that game but it does not work with the Playstation analog controller.

I got this in yesterday. StarMist and Barone must have conspired to get me to buy it.

Any opinion on your Saturn wheel, sheath?

I suck at racing with it, but it is very sturdy and gives a good amount of resistance. I'll need to sit down with it for a while to get used to it. I like the feel of it better than the Saturn Racing Wheel, and it rests on my legs nicely. The Sega wheel seems designed to set the base under the legs, and my thighs have always been too big for that.

    Thanks for the info.
How is the sensitivity? Which games have you played using it?

I think I just tried it with Sega Rally, and actually didn't do too bad now that I'm remembering. Sensitivity was just right once I changed the option settings to suit me better. I was power sliding like a champ after that.

Any dead zone on it? Is it perfectly centered?
It seems to be in mint/new condition by those pictures, nice haul!
