Admit it! You all liked Sewer Shark!
I held off for 6 pages but finally decided to chime in because I really enjoyed Sewer Shark, and will still play it occasionally.
Since in the beginning it was the only game I had for my Sega CD I played it a lot, but it's really not as bad as some people think. I think only people who haven't done any research will just blanket assume all Sega CD games are FMV crap; just like people assume all Neo Geo stuff is expensive.
There's a solid collection of awesome titles for the system, and plenty of junk as well. I can't think of any console that exists with more than 50 titles and not a single bad game. Shovelware and cash in games will always exist, just don't focus on them and love the great games for a system that are there.![]()
Anyone care to explain how the Genesis hardware bottlenecks the Sega CD's? The SCD appeared to have decently powerful hardware (for a 1991 home console that is) under its hood, but except for a few games don't feel like it was used to its potential.
I think the Sega CD really had the potential to make SNES fans jealous with its graphics. I'm disappointed that few games ever took advantage of the hardware. If it had been more successful, perhaps Treasure would have made some kind ridiculous game for it that pushes the hardware. (In vein of Alien Soldier, Radiant Silvergun, and Ikaruga).
Yeah it does not sound like much, but color quality/count alone goes a long way towards overall graphical splendor.
Wasn't there a programing trick that let you display MORE than 64 colors on Genesis/Sega CD?
Didnt the sega CD have much better scaling and rotation capabilities than the SNES? they could have done some interesting stuff with that.
