I think the general apathy towards the PSP compared to that towards the DS had at least partially to do with Sony's gross overestimation of how much gamers want "console quality" games on a handheld. Playing God of War and Grand Theft Auto on the go was neat, but at the same time it was akin to bragging about second-basing a twenty five year old: all you're doing is drawing attention to the fact that you didnt get laid.

Near-console-quality is the best handheld games can hope for, and most of today's gamers would rather skip the foreplay.

I think there is a market there for a quality Call of Duty handheld game. If that and an Uncharted off-shoot can't sell a Sony handheld, I don't know what will.

That's right I forgot about that. Yet ANOTHER reason to own a VITA! It technically comes with a bunch of free games from the PSstore without getting a bundle. I think I've counted near 10 free games and apps or so if you include things like Paint Park, the AR games, Frobisher says, etc, etc. That adds a lot of value right from the start. PSOII is gonna be sweet, who's gonna play!
