The original game had a frog wearing a hat flying an starfighter trying to stop a giant disembodied monkey head that was floating around in space trying to take over the galaxy.

It would be difficult to get any less serious than that.

That's cool if you don't prefer it. My point is that they are amazing, and deep games that are based on flying ships from Star Wars in 3d.

Pretty much, but just look at the plot of any other Nintendo classic. Plumbers chasing giant turtles with mushrooms? Pure insanity.

With that said, I love both Star Fox and Star Fox 64 just about equally.

Zelda with starfox characters, simple as that.

Didn't play the game too much as I didn't like the 3D zelda games to begin with.
The annoying part is that there is some actually nice arwing gameplay in there, but most of the game is played in the hack'n'slash adventure style gameplay.

Let's listen to Jon giving us some wise words on the matter

Didn't feel like Zelda to me! I remember getting lost and bored quite frequently with this one. So bored, in fact, that I forgot this game existed until about five minutes ago.

Star Fox adventures is a very underrated game. I'd say it's just as good as the 3D zelda games on the N64.

In fact, it was originally in development for the N64, and titled "Dinosaur Planet".

I do recall reading about this, actually. Would've been neat if they expanded on the direction of SFA.

Star Fox is a pretty good game. I much prefer SF64, though. SF on the SNES is fun, but I don't think it's in the top tier of titles for the system. SF64, on the other hand, is one of the best reasons to own a 64.
