3 Ninjas Kick Back is down!
    DSC_0046.jpg
There were a couple of scenes before this, but i was too slow fumbling with my phone to capture them. Nothing to exciting though, just the old guy saying something along the lines of "You have beaten the game, what an achievement".
Was tense at the end, came right down to my last life as i had put the controller down after the last boss, and surprise, there was a very short level directly after him which i was not prepared for that involved being chased by a big boulder. My heart jumped as I picked up the controller to run from this thing, ended the game on my last life with one hit remaining!
Overall this game was not as terrible as expected, though difficulty is all over the place. The second level is far and away the most difficult, and the level following it is so easy I finished it first try without dieing, which I can't say for any other level. Graphics and animation are decent enough. Music is so so. The game play doesn't have to much variety but there are a handful of little things that shows at least some thought was put in, such as hiding in the background in level 2 to dodge projectiles (something I accidentally found out) and rewarding exploration, though usually only with score based items.

Next I'll claim Demolition Man, enjoyed the movie greatly. Am sure the game will be terrible!

I took a break from Galahad (I'm on world three), and decided to try a game I've owned for a long time, but never played...

Super Battletank: War in the Gulf? Eh, Mediocre Battletank: Slap Fight in the Back Alley is closer to the truth.

Basically, this game's RDF:Global Conflict light. Not broken, but not that great either. Actually, now that I think about it, RDF could have been Super Battletank 3, as the two share quite a few similarities. This one's easier and not as long, and it even has some boss-like battles. It also has a few cheap spots in it, with mandatory hits at times in the last few missions. It's not bad for what it is, but I'm glad I only paid a few bucks for my complete copy. And how do you like that copy paste job they did on the waving soldier's face?

I guess Galahad wasn't such a legend after all.

As I said in my review, it's not a bad game. Some good music, nice graphics, and such, but it does get drawn out after a while since there aren't many enemies to combat. The respawning helps a little, but it's also irritating when you clear an area, and come back to find it repopulated. Still, not a bad port of the Amiga game. Also, holy shit is he short. He must be standing on a crate to put his arm around her shoulders like that

I played Wimbledon for over an hour this evening, but I'm just not feeling that game. I know it's bad form to do this again, but I'd like to put that game back in the pile and start working on Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday and Golden Axe II instead. To make up for Wimbledon, I'll also take PGA Tour II.

    Default Bulls vs. Lakers

Finished Bulls vs. Lakers. This was the first Genesis basketball game that I ever owned. I have fond memories of this game but have not played it since 1994. My friend and I played it a lot, we each had a special technique that the other never really got good at; he could steal passes almost at will but I could tip in nearly every three-point shot that I missed (a skill that I have apparently forgotten because I never pulled it off even once while playing it for the 2013 challenge). I used to enjoy this game until NBA Live 95 came out and crushed it. Playing it now, Bulls vs. Lakers is not even as good as I remember. It's impossible to block the special moves or even double-team. Just dribbling down the court is annoying because you constantly get stuck on the player defending you. I didn't really have much trouble beating it on the hardest difficulty, it was just a chore and wasn't much fun. I'd rather play NBA Live 95 any day of the week. Still, it's better than awful basketball games like Pat Riley or Tecmo.

Even the playoff screen is annoying, you have to scroll to see parts of it because they made it too big to fit on one screen:

    ---

I'm still working on LHX plus I still have two sports games left: John Madden Football and Madden 97.

I don't really play role-playing games but I want to claim Scooby-Doo Mystery. I want to try beating something outside my comfort zone.

    ---

I don't think it's bad form. You deserve a lot of credit for finishing off Sports Talk Baseball.

Wow, how many levels are there? Thanks for tackling that one!

There appears to be 494 levels. Depending on your score at the end of each one, you can jump from 1 to 9 levels for the next game, the average being 5.

Anyway, I still have to understand how the score is calculated.

I should now have 20 worlds to go through, but I guess it will becore really hard soon, so my progress will probably be slower. Worlds 465-469 seem to be insanely difficult although earlier ones will be wild too.

    OK, time for an update.

I honestly don't know if F-15 Strike Eagle II has an ending. I reached the top rank some time ago (Brigadier General), I've flown nearly 50 missions, and I could swear I've seen several of them more than once in each country. The game has six countries to fly missions in, and none of them seem to lead to an ending, or even a country completion (like with F-22 Interceptor). Outside of promotions (which I ran out of a while ago), I'm starting to wonder if this game just goes on forever.

It seems it has no ending. Also while it keeps score (well the PC version does) I read there is no high score table either.

^What he said. I'd be more than happy to take a shot at Wimbledon later this year, since tennis is by far my favorite sport to play as a video game.

It sure sounds like it! Should we call this one beaten? Anything out there about other versions? A quick Google search turned up nothing.

I'm still working on Double Dribble. This game is kinda kicking my ass. There's no turbo button to move faster and making three point shots is not as smooth as say NBA Live. I'll put more effort into this though.

    Madden '92.

Great game. Maybe the best 16-bit football game I've played. Smoother gameplay than the '94 version I beat earlier, and NFL license aside, better in-game presentation and aesthetics too. However, I do prefer the simpler, formation-based hierarchies found in '94's playbook over the hierarchies based on personnel packages ("hands", "fast", etc.) that are in this version.

I'm going to have to get ahold of one of the later Maddens now for further series comparisons.

Well that works out then. Cool!

I'll get started on BR: CtD this weekend.

EDIT: I will upload a video of Madden '92's championship game when I get a free moment.

Since I can't find anything regarding an ending on any version of this game, I'll just post my standings after 50 missions and hope for the best...

Looks like F-15 Strike Eagle II just got its feathers pimp slapped off.

This is arguably the best flight simulator on the Genesis. The framerate's decent, there are plenty of missions to fly, a good number of options and views, and even detail settings. With music by Matt Furniss, it even has a pretty good (though limited in numbers) soundtrack. The window where all the action takes place is pretty small, but that's expected if you really want a framerate that's not a slide show.

Edit: Joy, my website's being a dick. Hopefully the images will work soon.

World Heroes didn't put up much of a heroic effort.

So yeah, a lot of people despise this port of the SNK game. It's not broken in my opinion, but it could have been done better. Especially the endings, since they got rid of them all and just stuck in a generic one, regardless of what difficulty you play on. It's got a decent amount of the original game in it regarding the tunes, voices and such, but I think a few extra Mb would have resulted in a more faithful port... or at least given us back the damn endings.

I played on Hard by the way.

As for a couple of picks, I'd like to claim Raiden Trad, and Sub-Terrania, please.

Yours! BTW and FYI, F-15 Strike Eagle II hasn't been reviewed on the site. (I don't mean to keep volunteering you, mind, but since you seem to have enjoyed the game, etc.)

In other news, I've marked all the six-week-old, no-update claims in red in the first post. I'm not going to formally "cancel" them in a blanket way, but if anyone really wants one of the games marked in red, I think it's now safe to go for it (as long as you're willing to start working on the game and post updates as appropriate).

The Coop, I know you wanted Slaughter Sport, and another poster was asking after Trouble Shooter. I sent Curryman123 a PM over a week ago, but didn't hear back, so I guess he's lost interest and those can be fair game.
