I was never big into comic books, but growing up the newspaper that my parents had delivered had a couple of consistent gems. It had the paper run of The Amazing Spider-man, Farside, and The Phantom.

Because of this I've had a long running fondness for the character of the Phantom (I really like the movie that was done in the 90s starring Billy Zane, for example. Of course, that movie is a wonderful example of pulp story telling in general. Also, Treat Williams, Catherine Zeta Jones, Christy Swanson, and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. )

I recently picked up the game, and its in my game playing que. Unfortunately, Last couple years my ability to buy games has far exceeded my ability to play through them in a timely fashion, so I haven't got to it yet.

Phantom 2040 is a great game but you need to play it for a long time to walkthrough.
It is NOT an arcade action/platform game with short stages. Story & adventure take a big place.
Fortunatly, there is a password at the end of each stages.
Gameplay is at the top and make me forget all the licensed Batman/Spiderman games,
we are far from the poor gameplay of Chakan for example.
Phantom 2040 is a forgotten game, misknown. Hidden gem.

Yes, but the universe is special too. But it should be in any collector's library.
I especiallly like to find the secret bonus and secret areas, it is a complete game
with multiple endings and choices, a lot of stuff and things to do. Addictive.
In comparison, Batman and Spiderman games are weak, linear and monotonous.

From what I can gather, the animated series is regarding as an underated classic. I agree, as I used to enjoy it somewhat, before it vanished off the tv listings. The game's kinda meh to me, pretty boring but seems like it could be alot fun if you put the effort in.
