SEGA is the Messiah of Console Gaming.
In July 2013, Exactly 164 months after Dreamcast launched, something BIG will happen at SEGA. Which is "ORBI" the world.
All the NAYSAYERS will be silenced forever when Orbi get's its "Notice of Allowance".

Why is there so much hostility here? I don't get it at all. Live and let live, guys (I'm not talking about the film).
It may no longer be the `90s, but there is still time for Klax.
This film could of been a lot worse.
There was minor things that annoyed me, like the totally stock sounds that were never synched and sounded god-awfull for the robots.
The 3D looked good some times (like when the robots first enter the forest and scan the area). But looked very mediocre other times (poor tracking, lack of color correction etc).
It was a interesting watch to say the least, but it just wasn't all that good.
It tried to take sonic too seriously, but at the same time mixed in the colorful elements from the games.
Their Robotnik was pretty good though, and I would've loved to see them having taken this in a more Sonic SatAM direction.
The whole thing is filled with cameos . . . the vast majority of notable cast and voice actors are internet personalities (Arin Hansen -Egoraptor- did the E100s and Knuckles voice, for example), plus Jaleel White, of course.(on that latter note, I was thinking Sonic's face looked kind of odd and out of place -especially if they were going for the 90s Sonic Cartoon styling, but then I realized it actually looks like they tried to add a little of Jaleel's actual facial features into that model
)
It's actually really interesting to hear Jalee's old Sonic voice again, but aged a bit.
I thought it was pretty awesome . . . not "good" per se, but fun and an interesting mix of classic Sonic plot elements with a handful of modern things worked in. The writing and acting was fine, the tone seemed to work too. (mix of homage to classic Sonic media from the 90s and DC era along with some tongue-in-cheek at the "serious" tone as well -at least I took it that way, it not intended to be literally deep/epic)
Obviously a huge chunk of the core plot was derived from the SatAM series, along with the comics and Sega's original promo comic for that matter. (or, rather, the other 90s examples drew from that in the first place)
It would have been funnier if they'd worked in a bit of the AoSTH flavor IMO . . . but then again, I'm not sure how they could push that without ruining some of the other parts. (or ending up with a weird mix of light/goofy/ridiculous stuff and darker stuff too -that didn't really work out in Sonic Underground)
My main complaint so far is just the way some of the CGI got edited in, especially Sonic interacting with the environment (very poor reaction to his presence, very limited effects to blend the model into the live action frames). That, and Sonic just looks weird . . . after realizing (I assume) the Jaleel White face thin, I kind of accepted that as an interesting addition, but the rest of the model just seems off. (OK, the rendered spikes/fur in general could be OK . . . but either give them better detail/physics/animation and/or just screw it and go for a more cartoony look -still needs decent animation for that too, it's way too stiff)
I thought it was pretty funny though . . . if it's not supposed to be tongue-in-cheek at all, then they've missed it IMO, but if I'm seeing it the way it was intended, than it works IMO. And if I'm wrong, it'll probably become obvious in further installments. (like that Mega Man fan film thing . . . which got obviously bad -a bit of tongue-in-cheek and less blatant serious tone . . . and bad acting/etc might have worked for that too, as it was, they kind of did that for Wily, but the rest was just stupid)
Also, I rather like the way Arin put it in game grumps (at 5:14)
