i like nintendo but yeah the last year or so was bad.

    3 bad things about it-
    1. connectivity (connecting gba to gamecube) and all the stuff you needed for it wasn't sold together.
    2. not as many sports games as xbox or ps2 and they seemed inferior. i feel like i remember the comentary to one of the ncaa football games being more repetitive on gamecube.
    3. not as many buttons on the controller so it was annoying having to hold L+Z on the madden menu screen.

Goldeneye is almost as over-rated as FFVI thru XI
Goemon 1 on 64 was garbage.

Disclaimer: Over-rated doesn't directly translate to 'Bad'
It only implicitly does so at best. However I will admit that 'over-rated' can supplement 'bad.'
So don't get on my butt about Kefka, 40 minute endings, Nomura, or whatever else.

I like game systems to be toys. I don't get the whole adult image associated with video games, since they're obviously toys (and nothing wrong with that). But the Gamecube was where Nintendo really slowed down in trying to bring innovative first party titles out. In the NES days, of course, there were a ton of original, new games made by them, but now it's just sequel after sequel. That said, the DS and its library topped the charts last year, and the Wii is outselling the PS3... actually, I doubt Nintendo has been doing anything but playing it smart and making a slow but steady profit.

Pikmin. An excellent, original first-party launch title. Sold the Gamecube for me. Granted, after that there weren't too many non-sequel or spinoff first party titles on the GC, but don't forget that shining moment of originality and fun.

Man, a Pikmin for the Wii would be so awesome. Except I can't imagine playing it on anything save a Gamecube controller.

I think they'd already slowed down way before Gamecube came out. What first-party N64 games were there that weren't sequels? Paper Mario is just about all I can think of, and even it was billed as a spiritual sequel of sorts.

    Smash Bros. was original enough.

    Forgot about Pikmin.

Well its already been said many times over, but I definitly would call the GameCube's library weak. Super Smash Bros. Melee is still my fav game for the system and is a game I still pop in from time to time. I also loved Ikaruga (didn't import it on the Dreamcast so the game's presense on the 'Cube was a God send), even when it was really punishing me for my mistakes. F-Zero GX was another game I really enjoyed, even if I couldn't beat some of those insane races or chapters in story mode.

Most would probably agree that the GC was the weakest of the three systems last gen. But the GC's library weak? Personally, I wouldn't say so. Heck, I still got a couple dozen games to pick up for the system.

The GC was definitely more powerful than the PS2 as far as graphics. Not quite up to Xbox quality, though.
