Default Not really using my Mega CD and Mega 32x... advice?

I know, it's a crime against humanity. But I just don't get it. I've had them for a long time, the two attachments and yet I don't really use them, at all. They just remain connected into my machine and they do nothing but eat power. Yes, I have some games for them but I haven't really had a chance to, nor actually got around to getting more games for those two little add-ons. On the other hand, I have been getting good old megadrive games all over the place.

Any advice for me? I know it's silly, but I don't know what to do. I am loathe to sell them, I don't know if I could get to really like them. My console WOULD look rather bare without them, but I don't really use them. Are there any games you could recommend I get that WOULD get me using them?

The Mega CD has a plethora of decent to excellent titles that really show off it's
untapped potential. At some point I'll find my list of those. I cannot defend the 32X at all though.

Just put them in storage. That's what I did.

I couldn't justify keeping my old setup which was a Model 1 Genesis + Model 1 CD, and a Model 2 Genesis + Model 2 CD + 32X because it took up a lot of power, and wasn't really necessary. It was a sight to behold, but it was too insane for it's own good. So I condensed it down to a Model 1 Genesis, a Model 2 CD and a 32X.

With that said, I have never really used my Sega CD consoles for more than a few hours! My 32X, well... I've used it quite a bit more than my Sega CD systems.

I couldn't justify keeping my 32x, I had two games for it that were "must owns" for me but they were also on Saturn. Saturn just did them better.

"Knuckles Chaotix" didn't thrill me and neither did "Kolibri"...so i got rid of it and all the games.

Sega CD however....I don't play it much (Sonic CD didn't wow me) but i rather liked "Mickey Mania".

The music is better and I believe there is an extra level on the Sega CD version.

The voices are crystal clear as well.

Well, a good start would be to list what games you already own so we can recommend ones you don't. But if you want to play it more, I'd suggest...

    Shining Force CD
    Lunar: The Silver Star
    Lunar 2: Eternal Blue
    Ecco the Dolphin CD
Ecco the Dolphin: The Tides of Time CD

And if those aren't keeping you playing it, maybe storage really is the best thing for the poor, underplayed device. I don't know what to tell you about the 32X, though. I don't actually own one myself.

Well, let's see. I have the following:

    Mega CD games:

    BC Racers
    Ecco the Dolphin
    Prince of Persia
    Road Avenger
    Sega Classics Arcade Collection
    Sol Feace
    Soul Star

    Mega 32x games:

    Doom
    Virtua Racing

Not a lot to go on, no. It's just, compared to 113 normal megadrive games, it sort of pales in comparison.

I'll certainly have a look for them, but mega CD titles aren't all that common where I am and I don't come across many on eBay.

If I could get ahold of Star Wars Arcade, the 32x would be worth it's weight in gold to me.

Buy Night Trap 32X/CD. Then you will use both add ons at the same time! Talk about killing two birds in one stone.

Well, I've been playing Road Avenger today... now I remember why I bought the Mega CD.

In the future I am thinking about going back to my old setup with all of the Genesis combos. I need another SCART cable for my Genesis 1, and a RCA y-adaptor for the TV. Is there usually a quality loss?

    I have no idea.

Well, I haven't really been playing either enough to warrnet continuing to have them set up, draining away my electricity. They are safetly away, all parts included, ready for me to find something that'll make me play them again.

In truth, I haven't really bought any other games fo them since I actually got them. I always seem to just be getting the good old megadrive games. Maybe that's a sign, I don't know for sure. I am not wanting to sell them, because knowing me, if I did I'd regret it later along the line.

For now, I am willing to use just the megadrive and play all the games I love.
