Is PRO YAKYU VAN a official release? I could not see this on the wiki for official released games.

Damn where do you get all these from? My local retro store has only a handful of (J)MD games. Id die trying to import em all on ebay or other online sales. Unless I flew down to Japan myself and snagged as many as I could from a retro store there and fly em back.

    Yes and no.

It was a "not for sale" title that wasn't available at retail and not considered part of the complete set, but it is an official title made by Sega. I'm not certain how one would acquire it originally. Perhaps you had to purchase it directly from Sega, or maybe it was a gift item with another purchase - who knows. It's somewhat of a mystery.

Which games do you need? I stopped collecting and intend to sell off most everything, and I also have duplicates of most the mega rare/expensive games.

I bought every one of them off eBay.

    Noooooo!

Create a non-profit entity which you're head of then gradually sell your games to it and claim them as a deduction for the next 20 years so you can optimize your assets.

In all seriousness though it's kind of sad to see you do that, but it is your stuff so I wish you the best. It'd be nice if you did take nice pictures and catalog it all first before selling it though. Are you keeping anything or just switching to something different?

Some of the Sunsoft releases for the Japanese Mega Drive came in the small cartridge cases that you see in the picture.

It was my original intent to make a catalog superior to all that currently exist, but I don't have the time to commit to it and have decided (after four years of planning) to abandon it altogether. I am keeping many games: Everything I had as a kid or received as a gift (for nostalgic reasons); And the games I would like to play "someday." All told I'll probably still have, by my estimate, around 800 or so games - which is still a decent collection but far less than the 5,200+ I currently have.

Just shelf 'em. I don't have time to play much which is part of the reason I'm getting rid of 'em.

Your selling them? If so, where?

It's a shame that you will be unable to properly catalogue all of the Japanese Mega Drive games. Especially when you currently possess all of the titles. But dreams are sometimes meant to remain that ... just dreams. 5200+ titles is quite alot of games! I think you've made the right decsison to sell off most of your collection. I'm curious to know what other gaming consoles you've collected for?

Sad, but understandable. I've got a complete EU Master System set, and it just sits on the shelf. Purging the collection might seem like madness to some people, but it's often what's needed to get out of the despair of collecting just for the sake of collecting. I really need to sell some of my stuff as well :/

But that aside... It's really cool to see a complete JP MegaDrive collection
