Hey, I might be moving my PS3 into my room, and was wondering. Does it's PS1 compatibility with games output 240p via composite video? If not, I'm not going to bother and will stay with my PS2 (since it at least can improve the graphics somewhat of PS1 games, and the PS3 doesn't even have that).

I didn't try Composite video, but I can tell it does not output PlayStation games in 240p via Component. The PlayStation 3 appears to default to 480i regardless of whether a PlayStation game is 240p or not as I noticed the picture flickers like crazy on my Electrohome CRT TV via Component while it doesn't flicker at all via Component on a PlayStation 2. So unless I missed something, don't expect 240p out of a PlayStation 3 for PlayStation games.

I run my Ps3 via HDTV and HDMI, everything is a tad burly.

This isn't about HDMI.

Oh I know I'd thought I'd share my findings. FWIW the PS2 plays PS1 and PS2 games better then the Ps3 i think.
