As much as I would've loved to maybe get a new Xbox in the future, lack of used games kills it for me. It sucks for having to always pay more and not being able to sell your old games as people have already mentioned, but it also sucks for when some games are no longer printed, and you can't find any new copies left that you can download. That might especially be a problem for licensed games.

Meh, screw new consoles. There's enough consoles and old video games out there already that I'd never have to buy anything current ever again.

I hate micro$oft they are always greedy. I make sure micro$oft never gets my money. Also for an addition anti-micro$oft plug use GNU/Linux I do and it is much better than windoze.

I had and still have no interest in Xbox O especially if it does block used games and if it requires Kinect. The silver lining is, at least it'll be cheaper than PS NEAR/PS Cloud and have actual useful Digital and downloadable cotent. Also, blocking use games will kill the worse gaming retailer in world "Gamestop".

As for PS NEAR/Cloud, the more I read about the more offended I personally am. I personally still thought the meeting would exasperate PS3 and Vita's sales(especially Vita's) but if it is indeed mainly a Cloud based console, then Sony can kiss most of its needed consumers goodbye and most smart gamers will be saying "Oh,HELL NO!"

Selling and releasing a Cloud based gaming console, let alone rushing one out has got to be the STUPIDEST most ill advised idea I have ever heard in my entire life. Sony is shooting themselves in the foot with this idea. Streaming games most of that is NOT a good idea. And as I've explained before, not everyone in the world has high speed LAN, and Streaming means half the time games won't be available for purchase.

For now, I'm considering the PC market. Its about time for me to get a Laptop anyway and the PC gaming business is the most innovative its been in years. Until SEGA's inevitable comeback, count me in.

If these new consoles are going to be pretty much a PC in a small box, I'd rather spend the $400 on a new videocard for my PC.

This has nothing to do with Microsoft being greedy, this is about game publishers wanting this change, and MS has to be catering to them as they are the ones giving the console its life blood (ie. games).

At this point I'm pretty much leaning towards Wii U and PC only for my next generation gaming. The reason developers want this so bad is becuase budget wise they are all making Shenmues. Games with ridiculously high budgets that their sales can't cash. Developers have let their budgets spiral out of control and instead of dealing with that situation they instead want to punish consumers who try to save money.

Who cares? I think gamers are too self entitled. Games are a waste of time and money for entertainment. Concern toward owning access to them for 20+ years, or reselling them shouldn't be a big deal. If they sell game discs at retail that only exist to save you time on bandwidth, and still require you to activate codes online. It won't be a big deal to me. They can simply put a demo on the disc for those who don't want to activate new, it wouldn't bother me. If they release the Xbox and PS4 with 1-account serial keys, but cut prices on new games, I'll still buy them. Giving up the freedom of used sales is a price issue. Everybody who thinks modern gaming is shit compared to the good old days, didn't take the time or effort to look at the alive and well classics coming out of the indie scene today.

I think I'm gonna go for the PS4 this year. Microsoft seems to be going the home entertainment route (cable TV, music, etc.) while Sony seems to be focused on gaming. If I do get a next gen Xbox it will be for a long time still. It will be interesting to see what Rare will have in store. I'm betting on more Kinect bullshit. As far as exclusives, Halo, Fable Forza is basically all M$ has to offer. A new next gen Gears of War would be nice. I'm also betting that the new Xbox will be the equivalent of Games for Windows live on crack.
