Default Video game related stuff you will never do again

Anyone have gaming related things you once did but will likely never do again?

I was thinking, I haven't rented a physical copy of a game since 2007. Rental places have died off in my area and I never use those Redbox machines. I can't picture renting a disc/cartridge ever again.

Probably play Donkey Kong 64, that game ate up a solid 50 hours and I feel no need to play it again anytime soon... Unless in 10 years I've completely forgotten it.

Playing Phantasy Star Online (Online). The last Phantasy Star I've played online was Universe for the PS2. It was a great grindfest when it first came out, but I've really lost interest in this style of online game.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Yeah I probable won't be buying a new console the way things are going. I know Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony just want to make more money but down here back in reality it makes me feel like they are tightening the screws more and on something I can live with out and I will vote with my dollars on that.

I wont buy any more crappy games either or at least for my collection. If I play it it stays if not I sell it. Oddly enough the only games that worth anything I have left are Lunar,Snatcher and Guardian Heroes. Most are games like ROS and Ghouls'n Ghost. Fun but not hard to get.

I hope I don't have to add getting sucked into a good game in almost the same way I get sucked into a good book. I can't remember the last time that happened.

Paying new price for collectors editions of games, I once got the Collectors Edition of MK9 and it was quite the letdown, the "statue" it was supposed to come with was a tiny little rubber figure.
Sure the art book was nice, but all in all it felt like a letdown, special editions are worth buying 2nd hand but not new.

Play an arcade cab. They are just not seen in the wild around my area anymore. I can think of two local pizza shops with a few, but they are nothing that interests me much.
    It is finished!

Ditto for me. The other option is Gamefly, but even though it seems like a good deal, I'd rather just spend the $25 a month buying a budget game I wanted.

Another ditto. I've always tried to buy games that I thought I would play and not buy just to pad my collection, but I did find myself buying more systems and games than were warranted by the amount of time I actually played them. So in essence, I was collecting just to collect. I've sold off most of my systems and just try to buy games for the remaining ones I have that I will actually play (i.e. top notch titles that I will likely put a lot of time into or want to finish). Buying stuff just to have it is really a waste of money (especially since I don't have spare dough just lying around).

I'm in the same boat, although this makes me sad. I wish there were good places to go to play good arcade games, but there aren't. There's a movement afoot to combine gaming with bars and family entertainment, but I don't like the vibe of such places (like Dave and Buster's), and there's not not one local to me anyway. Add to that the fact that my arcade tastes are also retro, and the likelihood of me finding a cabinet I actually want to spend money on is pretty slim. It's too bad; I miss playing a good arcade machine.

A video game related activity I'll never experience again is going to an arcade room. Now I'm not talking about the so called arcades that exist these days, full of gimmicky games (ski-ing, dancing, etc...). I'm referring to something you'd seen back in the early/mid 90s. I have such wonderful memories of such places and always talk to my kids about those experiences. I would love for them to experience such a place, but I can't find them anymore. Really sad.

Another thing I won't do is buy a console new. I haven't done that since Xbox, and before that, I had not purchased a new console since PS1! I usually buy a system used later on down it's life span, usually at half price, if not even more (paid $100 for my PS3!).

I also won't get into PC games anymore. I used to play them a lot back around 93 through 97, but after that my computer could not keep up with the game specs. I also kind of drifted away from video games for awhile. Once I got back into video games, the idea of sitting in front of a computer monitor, using a keyboard just didn't sit with me. Still doesn't, thus I won't play newer PC games. I did put together an old "dos" PC that one day I plan on loading up with some older games I played back in the day, but that PC has been gathering dust and my motivation for such a project isn't up there. A lot of those games have appeared on various consoles, and I usually just play them even if they are inferior to their PC counterpart.
