Ok I am actually liking this post from you, for once right now.
Customized Sega Genesis Model 1 - VA3. Energy efficient with buck converters instead of LM7805's.
No matter what, the Genesis game needs to have the highest quality short "bleh bbbdududbuh" samples for proper Muppet jib-jab.

I never had any project about doing a commercial game from that, it's just a demo in rom form and it will probably stay that way.
I have no plan about designing cart with extra chip or whatever
I got your point of having something more polished by using a chip booster and if some guys are interested in that they are free to do it but i'm unlikely to use any extra hardware myself
From a strict developer viewpoint, i do no see the point of adding extra chip as you can put whatever you want, for instance an embedded ARM chip in the cart, and because this is a genny cart you will call it a MD game even if embedded hardware if hundred time more powerful than genny ? does not make much sense for me...
Also my point is to see what a stock MD is able to do =)
Actually because of the background and my font which is used for FPS (or debug) i am already really tight on it, i guess i can try something but honestly i don't find the tearing annoying enough for that ^^Ah, so best to leave any possibility for double buffering until after you've got other things pegged down
The 256 horizontal resolution is practical for several reasons and also the 256x160 resolution is already quite wide, 280x146 is very close to 2:1 !!And, in any case, for the amount of work RAM and VRAM you're reserving for framebuffer space, it still seems like something close to 280x152 would work well for that (for switching to H40). If you wanted to keep it no larger than the existing 256x160, something like 272x150 or 280x146 would be decent compromises. (or round that a bit if you want to stick with complete 8x8 tiles without clipping the tops/bottoms at all)

Cool Stef. Can't wait to play finished version on my Genesis. Oh yeah, ha ha.
^ the above is funny. Double and triple posting, not so much.

Typing Ha Ha for your JOKE like twice before you telling me it's constant or suggesting it's out of control ? Oh well.

I like Starfox's aiming controls most of all. I wonder how hard it would be to make a 2D scaling game like space harrier or Panorama Cotton with those kinds of controls. I would be more interested in something like that than more bad 3D.
