Why would I want to watch a show about colorful little ponies doing colorful little pony stuff? I'm not a 7 year old girl.
Do you.. do you own the pony dolls? do you.. comb their hair..? make them have adventures?

oh man what's next, care-bear-bronies? (or would that become care bear comrades?)

Maybe they shouldn't spread it all over the internet in the first place then.

So you deny that too? Yeesh. Why am I not surprised Yoshi's Island fanboys are also bronies.

NeoVamp seems to be acting a little overly up in arms about this whole thing... I recall this happened in another thread where bronies were mentioned. seems suspicious.

And dude, it's not the "age" it's the gender. It's a show for little girls.
It's a show for little girls, but it's also written and produced by the same woman who wrote and produced Fosters Home for Imaginary friends. I'm not really too fond of the show, but I can actually sort of see why people other than little girls watch it.

As for people obsessing over it, eh, it seems to me to be more of a sort of novelty in being able to say "I'm a grown man, I have a stable job, and I WATCH A SHOW FOR LITTLE GIRLS AND also like to comb my pony's hair..."

That's not to say that all fans of the show aren't pathetic, I mean you can go to this channel right here: http://www.youtube.com/user/airlessarchives69 (not for the faint of heart, Jesus Christ believe me on this). But typically most people who like the show outside of its intended demographic are just adults who like cartoons. It's just unfortunate that so many of the creepy ones are so vocal about this show.

I still watch cartoons. I fuckin' love cartoons! I watch Regular Show and Adventure Time, always watchin' the new episodes of Bob's Burgers and Archer when they come out, I really don't see me watching those as any different. Ok, well sort of because I don't try and force them in peoples faces like I've seen some bronies do with Friendship is Magic.

But it's not the entire fanbase, just a rather large, really fucking irritating-ass vocal minority.

Fair enough. Fosters was pretty good. It wasn't targeted at little girl though.

Really? you're pulling the old "hmm he denies it so he must be one!" thing? that's so.. well its so old it doesn't have a date.

No sir, I grew up on Predator and Aliens and Tour of Duty, lotsa pew pew pew BLOW EVERYTHING UP!

On Saturday mornings I watched The Real Ghostbusters/M.A.S.K./G.I. Joe/Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors/Transformers (the good one)/Rambo/Thundercats/Inhumanoids/TMNT/etc etc.

I did not watch My Little Pony, or JEM, or Care Bears because they were made for girls.

Perhaps this era of humanity thinks its okay for boys to embrace their female side,
But.. no, that's just too much for me, call me old fashioned but watching MLP is just a line I will not cross,
I will share my feelings, I will be open about my emotions, but watching a show made for little girls is just.. no, no.

I agree with everything in this post, except that archer is clearly made for adults, so I would consider it to be a little different.

This is what I thought was an awesome cartoon.

Other awesomeness included Samurai Jack, Spawn, Batman the Animated Series, Jackie Chan, Gargoyles, etc...

Well, I mean think of it this way. I know a lot of parents who watch TV with their kids. I used to watch a lot of shows with my baby sister back when she was like, 5 or 6. And I mean, I was surprised by a lot of the shows that they had played, Arthur for example had some pretty good writing and dealt with a lot of sort of mature themes like divorce that kids these days have to deal with. I'm willing to bet that this whole thing sort of started because of siblings/parents watching TV with their kids, which is actually a good thing when you consider how many parents just sit their kids in front of the TV thinking it will do their job as a parent.

It's gotten re-godamned-diculous though, that youtube channel Jesus H Christ

I love the intro to this one. But I watched it on Netflix recently and I sort of felt like it was a little weak in terms of exploring the relationship between J and K. Although, I have to say the voice acting was really nice, even if they couldn't get Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. They got the same guy that did Cornfed Pig in Duckman (one of my favorite shows ever) to do agent K. Overall it was a pretty nice show I thought.

Arthur, much like other cartoons of the time, had a LOT of content that only older people would get. They were the kind of cartoon that would make kids smarter.

Yeah Arthur is a surprising show. It has lots of pop culture references and covered a lot of sensitive life issues. I only ever saw the early seasons though, those were good.

On the subject of target audiences. I don't think any self respecting parent here would willingly let their kid watch a show aimed at adults. How come it's different if you want to watch a show for little kids? Both are weird.

Don't forget to mention that Lauren also did some work on Iron Giant and Cats Don't Dance, two very good movies.
I for one couldn't care less about the target audience for a show as long as it sparks some sort of interest for me.

I've watched other shows targeted towards girls like Winx or Trollz, they were rather okay but it had too much of the whole "Let's hang at the mall" or "Let's do a make-over" which clearly shows the target demographic.
One thing that really made MLP FiM a bit more endurable is the fact that it doesn't really go to far into the whole female social mindset, but instead focuses more on events and life-lessons.

Also, ponies are just too fun to draw

Your artwork is the most brilliantly sickening thing I ever saw. I'd tell you to seek help but that would mean no more artwork like this.
