Default Sonic Unleashed on PC...kind of..

This is f**ing awesome. Modders have managed to import 8 Day stages from Sonic Unleashed PS3/360 into Sonic Generations. What does that mean? No QTEs, Werehogs or dodgy homing attack controls; instead you get better looking, high resolution versions of those levels, and get to play the levels without any fuss. Something I've wanted to do since I bought the game in the first place.

EDIT: The stages are: Windmill Hill, Rooftop Run, Savannah Citadel, Cool Edge, Dragon Road, Arid Sands, Skyscraper Scamper and Jungle Joyride. There's no Eggmanland (which was my fave level in the PS2/Wii versions).

    Download it here.

I need to get Sonic Generations for PC now I guess. While I love Unleashed, it will be great to finally play Adabat's stage without the horrible frame rate problems.

Awesome catch Jackal, I'll definitely be downloading this one. While I didn't find the Werehog levels bad in anyway, I also didn't want to play them and ended up trading Unleashed for 360 before the price dropped too much.

Also, EggmanLand probably isn't included because in the 360/PS3 version it involved real time switching between Hedgehog and Werehog.

It still dips. Adabat has more nodes than any other level in unleashed or generations... by like thousands. The engine just can't handle it. My rig is a monster, and it still dips. It's much better, though.

Classic sonic actually runs slightly better in adabat.
    A retarded Sonic.

Thank Sonic Retro, that's where I heard it from.

Yeah, I edited my first post to reflect that. It would be great if they could make a Sonic-only version of it in the future though, maybe as a possible update. Even if they don't, I'm still grateful they made and released this mod pack for free.

Although i'm not a huge fan of these Sonic games, when they are played on a PC they become 10 times better thanks to the unlocked frame rate. The only thing i like about these games is the nice scenery that you zip through with speed and the crazy camera angles that make the game look like a rollercoaster ride. And 30 fps is too low for that stuff to stand out even without slowdowns. These games only make sense at 60 fps and above for me.
