Honestly I don't see it as that big of a deal when the original Genesis game ran at that and all the other releases (minus the bad GBA remake), run at that. Sonic GBA was released 7 years ago and there have been multiple rereleases of Sonic 1 since then that are much better.
SEGA has been debt free since 2008. They're no longer bleeding money, their MAKING money.
I wouldn't call this a cash-in. Its another excuse for SEGA not to publish anymore AAA multiplatform games so they can save millions in cash.
I wonder how much cash SEGA has saved since they cut their 3rd party division down to size since 2011? probably around $2 billion.
SEGA is the Messiah of Console Gaming.
In July 2013, Exactly 164 months after Dreamcast launched, something BIG will happen at SEGA. Which is "ORBI" the world.
All the NAYSAYERS will be silenced forever when Orbi get's its "Notice of Allowance".

I thought the 3d world was just a part of Sonic Xtreme just thrown in there with the rest of slapped on 16 bit games ? I saw no point on buying Sonic Jam for my Saturn. Judging from comments here, it seemed inferior to the Genesis games, yes ? They should of released Sonic Xtreme when the Saturn launched or soon after or when Nights into Dreams came out (remember Sonic in XMas version?), instead Mario64 and N64 got the mascot 3d platformer crown.
You don't know what you're talking about. Sonic Team had nothing to do with Sonic Xtreme, and Chris Senn's work never progressed far enough to be included in anything.
Since when is Sonic team a part of AM2? Sonic Team had nothing to do with Shenmue.
AM4 still exists today. They're known as Team Yakuza and made the Yakuza games along with Binary Domain.
A retarded Sonic.

I mean what did they do spend all of that time onSee the question marks I put ? Please read what I actually type. So I don't know what I'm talking about, Sega wasn't making Sonic Xtreme at that time and Sonic Xtreme and Nights guys were arguing about using ones engine ? I just thought regardless of who made that sonic 3d part, it was just thrown into Sonic Jam as a cool bonus at least for everyone who was shown Sonic Xtreme clips and got hyped over it so they at least got to play a real 3d sonic on Saturn.Shenmue Saturn ha.
Does Sega still have it's AM divisions ? I never knew there was am4 or am7.
Did I say they did ? I thought the guy meant "what else was Sega doing". Let me repeat that because it explains my posts, I thought the guy meant "what else was Sega doing".Sonic Team had nothing to do with Sonic Xtreme,
Okay thanks for answer.and Chris Senn's work never progressed far enough to be included in anything.

Cool thanks, but do all Segas AM divisions still exist, that was my question.AM4 still exists today. They're known as Team Yakuza and made the Yakuza games along with Binary Domain.

I meant scrap Sonic Jam and the world and just give us a remade Sonic CD. They could've touched up the graphics a bit and maybe added some additional content. The same with Chaotix. Not as many people got to enjoy those games the first time around anyway. I remember reading somewhere that Sonic Jam was intended for all the Japanese people who didn't own Megadrives in the previous gen. I still think it was wasted potential.
