    Default Genesis Video Entertainment Cabinet?

I am looking for more information on this piece. What did it retail for? What is it worth now? etc. It seems rather uncommon. I cannot find any for sale online and only one recently sold for $45, which honestly seems a bit low IMO seeing how uncommon they seem to be. I ask because I may have the chance to pick one up locally and was wondering what a fair price for it might be.

Any information on it would be appreciated.

I had one. It came out during the model 2 area to keep everything organized. It cost like $20 to 30 and was just plastic like with graphics of black wood stripes. If you want it just to have it, $40 isn't that bad a price. It wasn't rare in my area, many companies like EB, Babbages, TRU and others carried them in 1994. I'd say they aren't very common, but aren't super rare either, me and my friend had it.

    Edit :

It was molded like the vhs organizers at the time, but single drawer instead of double.

There were many kinds of "organizers" for Sega stuff.

I have several of them, got them in the last few years for probably $25 or so each. FWIW, both Genesis and Master System games also fit in audio cassette storage drawers.

This is what I use for my Genesis games. Picked these up in the early 90's. I think they are official products too. I got about 8 of these for all my games. They hold 8 games each.

I have found quite a few of them in my daily thrift store hunts. I would have bought them all if I knew I could get $40 out of them.

Issue with these are that they are a generic product but with the Genesis sticker on it. I have the exact same one but it has a different (non-game system logo) sticker. I also had another one with the same wood part and tray but the tray front looked different and says Super Nintendo. Both I got were less than $5 each. I don't know if I'd pay a premium for it just because it has a Genesis sticker... but I did not get the packaging with mine.

I was looking everywhere for this too. It seems we are better off buying wood and making them but I dont have tools for that. I hear cassete tape holders work great as well if you can find those.

A buddy of mine wanted seven or so of these for his Genesis cart collection a few years back. It was a quest. I personally prefer those wooden Genesis cartridge racks for cart only, or a book shelf for boxed games.
