Hopefully this means that we will get a new Killer Instinct game soon.

I thought there was a similar dispute between Microsoft and Nintendo over trademark rights, or am I thinking about this one?
Oh, good. I hope this leads to a new game as well as a collection of both arcade games for the 360!
(so i can clear off some space on my modded xbox's hdd)
Am I the only one who doesn't know what "Fox" is? Fox who?
Fox Television Studios. You know, the same folks who aired In Living Color, The Simpsons, Married with Children, Family Guy, etc. Read the trademark agreement in the opening post link.

Do people still play fighting games?
Killer Instinct was one of those cash in franchises that really just made me cringe at Fighting games in general from then on. I am always shocked and amazed at how obviously bad a game can be and still become popular principally because of hype and the manufacturer. If Sega made Killer Instinct it would have been as nice as Fighting Vipers remains, but because of the Ultra 64 hype machine we have a "franchise" that people just adore.
"... If Sony reduced the price of the Playstation, Sega would have to follow suit in order to stay competitive, .... would then translate into huge losses for the company." p170 Revolutionaries at Sony.
"We ... put Sega out of the hardware business ..." Peter Dille senior vice president of marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment
"Sega tried to have similarly strict licensing agreements as Nintendo...The only reason it didn't take off was because EA..." TrekkiesUnite
Yeah, MK9 was amazing and Injustice demo I played today was kick ass! I'm not one of those over the top fighting fanboys, but love an easy pickup and play fighting game! SF4 was kinda stupid though...
KI was one of those type of games, not a huge fan, but enjoyed the arcade and snes port! I'd like to see this on the Xbox Live arcade and/or WiiU Eshop!
