Is this game for the PS2? The graphics sure look like it. In fact they might be a little worse than PS2 quality. Physics seem off as well.

Why is Australia making this and not Japan?

Whoever edited this video made a silly English voice over choice for the Japanese woman at 1:08. The woman just looks so soft spoken and slow paced in the way she is speaking, yet the voice over is all jazzed up. That just struck me as funny.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the release on this one because I adore the original so much. It's cool to see some of these Disney classics getting re-releases. I'm going to get Duck Tales as well.

Does anyone know what the release date is? Graphics aren't a big deal for Disney games, Epic Mickey 2's graphics weren't the greatest. I'm looking forward to it!

Odd thing is those dude's don't "sound" Australian, they sound English. Surprised they are doing it here as everything else they are out sourcing due to high Australian costs (pay rates etc).

I thought they canned Sega Australia and took it back to Europe?

I think it looks good. At least they are getting it right and keeping with the art style being early Disney rather than the crap game they just released on the 3DS. I supose you could ask that it be in Rayman Legends quality 2D but I don't know if that would really benefit the game. It doesn't have to be super HD current gen graphics for it to be good. As long as it plays well.

This was the first Genesis game I ever played. It has made a lasting impression on me and will never stop being awesome. This and Altered Beast.

    Perfect:

Now they can take every single platformer title from that generation (Sonic, Mario, Megaman...) and release like this. Imagine a new Ristar created by these people.
One shame the studio is closing...

Oh, so the original game wasn't only known for being an extremely hard game, but also had a hub world? You learn something new every day, that's some pretty thorough research there, Mr. Game Informer.

Other than that - if you ignore the graphics, which don't seem to be even in the same league as the original's when it comes to design, this looks better than expected, and it's cool to see they made some things that were basically cutscenes in the original playable, instead of the other way around.

And yeah, it almost kind of looks like they based this on some unfinished PS2 remake they had laying around.

OK, played until the library stage.
The game is a bit better than the original, but the SMS version is still better.
The art direction is very, very good. The candy world from the library, specially, is perfect, miles away from Sweet Mountain of Sonic Colors. My favorite part is inside the tea cup, with the "happy sugar blocks" :P
About the difficult, a lot of people are saying the game is easy. but the difficult, at least until stage 4, is practically the same of the original, like it or not.
One problem that I notice is the graphic is a bit shaky. I'm playing it with everything on full and max resolution for my monitor (1080) and had this problem. Maybe is only a poor optimization for certain VGAs, mine is HD7850.

We used to purchase games like this for full RRP, but now $15 seems a bit much for it haha. I'm looking more favourably towards Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons.

I played the demo yesterday on XBLA, wasn't too impressed with it, but bought through Steam anyway as I never go by demos.

Played up to the first toy level and...sorry to say it, I don't like. The level design is non-existent, the visuals are bland, the controls seem off (input lag?), the game's too easy (falling off screen with only knock off one health point, not a life, and lives are dotted around so much that they're practically giving them away). The biggest complaint I have is the game is little more than a collect-a-thon; all you really need to do (besides heading for the exit) is to grab enough gems to open up the next level. Bland, bland, bland. Feels nothing like the original.

Most will prob enjoy this, but I didn't. Shame as I was really looking forward to it.
