I played it when it came out.. I can't believe the price this game fetches now.. It wasn't that great of a game.

I bet the Wii gets snubbed. Wii U only. It isn't worth buying a new console for it.
That's what I'm afraid of. It'd be a shame if Nintendo ignored releasing this on the original Wii.

I really enjoyed the vibe and tone of Earthbound when I emulated it a few years back, especially the music, but the gameplay was and is garbage. Then again Final Fantasy and most grind(y) RPG's bore the shit out of me.

Nintendo seem to be on fan service overload the past few years, though in fairness Earthbounds worldwide release, not forgetting the EU since we never got it, is nice. But all this fanfare seems directed at a niche subset of Nintendo Power-warped gamers.

I actually think its why their franchises have started to feel stale lately, like sequels for off-beat hits like Luigis Mansion, trying too hard to account for Nintendo fans strange mangled expectations. I'd much prefer risks that birthed titles like Luigis Mansion, rather than a rehash of it.

That's all Virtual Console is. It simply gives an easy legal way to play those games close to there original form.

Fun game. Rented it back in the day but never owned it. Definitely a bit overrated.

    I will agree with this.

I really love the universe the game takes place in, honestly I wish that was explored a little more.

Mother 3 is a much better game I think, it's one of my favorite RPGs of all time right along with Xenogears.

With that being said, I really appreciate a lot of what the game did. Less grinding, the roller number system that it had for damage, I also really like the soundtrack and the idea of an RPG taking place in the 90's. I'd love to see more of this sort of thing, especially an expanded universe.

I think EarthBound is a pretty good game tbh.

Yes, pretty good. Not amazing, just pretty good.

I thought they couldn't rerelease it because it has some licensed music in it. I really couldn't care less. I enjoy pointing and laughing at people who spend $200 on a busted up loose cart.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

I got my copy through a trade. A big Yoshi plushie in exchange. I think it worked out in the end.

Are you serious?? This proves that obsessive Nintendo fans are brain dead.

What can I get with my uber cute Pokemon plushies? You think I can get my Pokemon Blue back? Maybe a newer one? I wanted to play Pokemon Black and White, but I can't justify buying a DS. Even when they got cheap, I always thought, "What else can I do with extra money?"

    Reviews in the pipeline:
    Choplifter (Master System and SG-1000)
Ys: The Vanished Omens with FM Sound Patch!

Well, the guy turned out to be a total loser anyway.
Are the GB Pokemon games hard to come by these days? I hope you have a GBA SP with a backlight, those are the best

The GB games aren't hard to find at all, but Pokemon fanatics are way kooky, and treat everything like gold.

You caught me! I have a GBA SP... with a front light.

That's not really a bad thing. I have both models and the front lit one works just as well IMHO. I can see the screen, that's all that matters.

Oh sure, it works just great, but I really do prefer the backlight model. It's better for my eyes.

I love that little handheld, but if I had a Sega NOMAD, there would be some competition! I wish the NOMAD didn't devour batteries though.

I'm not kooky, and I use a GBA Micro! It's lovely!
