Heck yeah! The picture quality is just as good as my Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player, which I love to death because of it's excellent upconversion of standard DVDs. As for sound, I kind of favor the sound of Blu-ray's uncompressed PCM 5.1 over Dolby TrueHD 5.1 (also uncompressed) that most HD DVD discs sport. The only glitch I've run into with the PS3 (as a Blu-ray movie player) is that ther can be small 5- 10 pauses when watching movies. This can be fixed by turning off the internet connection in the network setup menu. Hopefully, the next firmware update will fix that little problem. Originally Posted by George Foreman

Not very pleased with the 2-disc Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack. The discs are held in place very loosely, and when you open up the case to get at Disc 2 the hinge tears at the bottom layer of card, the bit that goes up the side. Looks like I'll need to file it down, or glue the card in place or something.
