Just downloaded Phantasy Star Complete Collection from JP PSN. Oh happy day!

Also Thunder Force V, since I always considered Thunder Force to be a Sega shooter.

    Reviews in the pipeline:
    Choplifter (Master System and SG-1000)
Ys: The Vanished Omens with FM Sound Patch!

Anyone have some more SMS games to recommend?
I've been wanting to checking out Sagaia, which is actually Darius II.Seems pretty good.

Found a LP of Psycho Fox.

    Jeebus, that game looks tedious!

I think its pretty good. Its has a high learning curve due to the fact that you need to use the momentum to make your jumps right but it has some interesting features, a good level design and cool visual and music.

I certainly does look fun and very challenging, but it just seems like it'll be quite hard like Girl's Garden.

Its challenging but you have unlimited continues. You can always start back in the stage that you lost;just hit continue in the main screen.

Any challenging side scroller requires unlimited continues. That's what gives them the re-play-ability, example: Street Fighter 2010.

Thanks for recommending this game for me!

Hey guys, mind if I barge in here?

I just got my SMS hooked back up. I haven't paid much attention since I bought it a couple years ago. I only ever got one gamepad for it as the store I got it from only had the one pad. Are the joysticks particularly tough to find? I've seen a few listings for different models but none of them seem to include the joystick.

I do have a screw-in controller myself but of course without the stick.

If you're planning on getting a bit of a collection... Get yourself some of these games:

And some 3D glasses if you can find them:

To many favourites to list personally, I grew up on the SMSII (Hang-on, Asterix, Taz-Mania, Sonic, Alex Kidd, Shinobi) - often on eBay there will be modified consoles popping up from time to time also (not sure on your area, at least over here in AU they do).

Ah the Ottifants, pretty good obscure game with not so good controls. Genesis version is a lot better in that regard.

When I bought the Master System, the store owner actually tried to give me a Genesis controller as my second controller but I have about eight of those of various types sitting around. To be honest I actually haven't tried it out yet as I kind of like the feel of the SMS pad. I'm actually interested in the controllers more to have them in the collection at this point though. I was just looking at them on ePay and wasn't to sure if it was a good deal or not.

I see.Well i think if you're interesting in collecting, i'd say to get one. They're not that easy to find in good conditions even here in Brasil.

I must be nutty because I like my SMS controllers. I like the buttons and the D-Pad isn't too bad either. I just wish there were better SMS games released in the US.

Yeah I guess I'll keep my PBC and Master Gear adapters for now.
