Will a rapid fire unit made in europe or japan work with an American master system? I doubt it wouldn't work, but I want to make sure before I blow the money on one.

Yeah, all acessories are region free.

Word.
I found an ebayer that for a while has ALOT of NOS units.
Yeah, I wonder where they all came from. The Japanese Sega Master System has one built in I think, but too bad you need to buy an adaptor to get it to work with US games.

It has 3d glasses adaptor and FM sound unit built in, but no rapid fire.
They fire REALLY fast.
It DOES have Rapid Fire:

You should see the RAPID button right near the start/reset button.

That's kind of dumb. You can't select which button has rapid fire or even which controller. It's all or nothing. I love the dumbass who wrote the article said something like "many a time I went to pause a game and accidentally hit reset instead" about the US/EU SMS which has a reset button instead of a rapid button. He must have a severe case of the Down Syndrome.
A mistake here and there, sure, but he's a decent guy, although takes him a while to respond. He answered a few questions on a couple of obscure saturn imports for me. I did ask him a question about the Mega Drive Six Button Pad, because on his site said, even with the mode button, one or two games will not work. When I sent him an email, he said he didn't know the one or two games that had issues.
Maybe some obscure Mahjong game or something, IF it's true.

Golden Axe 2.
The 6 button doesn't work at all, and thus you can't play it in a Nomad. I've personally experienced both of those things.
OH YEAH! They killed the reset button(not that useful, really).Originally Posted by David J.

I know on a real genesis controller, as long as you press the mode button. It works for me that way... but ONLY if I press the mode button.Originally Posted by TheGZeus

Never worked for me, mode switch or not.
It's just a fact that not every game works with them, mode switch or not.
"Some games may access the gamepad in a way that causes 6-button values
to be returned when 3-button values are expected. To get around this,
the MODE button can be held down when powering-up the console, and
the 6-button gamepad will respond like a 3-button one."

Some people don't know HOW to use the MODE button..
Yes, the 6-button pad AND the Nomad can work with every game if the MODE button is held for a very brief time as you turn on the system.
I held the mode button, and I got the six button pad to work with Golden Axe 2. Try practicing your timing.![]()
