Metroid 2 isn't nearly as labyrinth as the original, which is much more difficult than any other metroid game, especially blind.
I just realized I haven't played this in nearly 20 years.

Well, on the title screen it says 1994 - Nintendo.

    You can't argue with that.

Also i agree about Super Metroid being the best SNES game.

And the intro says 1993. There are a couple games whose copyright on the title screen doesn't match up with when it was released.

You need to remember that magazines have lead times. The June issue will be out a month or two before June. Same with the May issue of another magazine.

But that would still make it 1994 then. Just saying, I'm not sure if it was released late 93 or early 94.

I think it was probably earlier like Trekkies said. It seems like I might have bought it with Christmas money. The May issue of Nintendo Power had it in it, and like Joe said those magazines had lead times. So that issue and the others probably came out in late march or early April. This is probably when everyone ran out and got it (like me), because there was little to no fanfare about the game until that point. This is also probably the reason everyone likes to slap an April 94 release date on it.

edit: way to go d-bag EGM, put the damn ending shots right in your review.

Was the best part of the game. When it was finally over.(its a good game)They tried to find the best parts of the game and use those shots mostly. I remember when Chrono Trigger was in the works they put shots of the Rust tyranno screen up and I was like "well that spoiled that boss."

Look, I remember when I played the game with my friend. It was in Winter of 93/94. I remember because we played it almost every time there was a snow day that year after we'd come in from playing out in the snow. And I'm almost certain we played it in late fall of 1993. At the very least, the April 1994 date is wrong. It had to be out before that.

Here's the historical weather data for my town in April of 1994:

    http://weather-warehouse.com/Weather..._PA_April.html

There was absolutely no snow. It had to have been out before then. And don't say "Well maybe you are thinking winter of 94/95." As I've already mentioned that would be impossible. We moved to a different state in the summer of 1994. And I remember as it got closer to spring we weren't playing Super Metroid as much when we'd go over to his house because a) we had beaten it, and b) he had just gotten Donkey Kong Country.

Now, I may be wrong on the 1993 part, but the release date floating around of April 1994 is definitely wrong. It may have been January of 1994, but it definitely wasn't April.

It came out in April 94.

I know this, because I was a Nintendo fan who grew up on SNES. I waited for it, and I also wasn't a 4 year old kindergarten student at the time.

Just give it a few more years Trekkies. You'll come to realize that you're not always right and your memory actually sucks because you're getting old and stupid like the rest of us.

Speaking of Super Metroid and hard games. If any of you haven't played it yet, you need to check out the game La-Mulana.
