Yes, but not when you were 2.

At that age you wouldn't be "playing" anything. There's no need to make it sound like you were freaken born with a controller in your hands to prove how hardcore you are. My point is you don't need to prove anything to anyone because of your age. If you prefer 16 / 8 bit era games and know this then you don't need to come up with ridiculous claims to prove it to us. Trying to show off like this just makes you look insecure.

Gkdair has a point about how modern games are wayyyy more hand holding....but everything else he said is just anger and stereotyping towards younger gamers. If anything Gkdair wants to goad you into saying silly things like this to show your insecurity and make you look more like a poser.

Alright. I see what you're saying now. Also, about how games are wayyyy more hand holding, have you noticed thin Video Game manuals are today? They're usually only a couple of pages it seems, whereas systems like Gamecube, which was only a generation before, had manuals that were decently thick and full color. It really shows how much of the manual is being put into the game.

I used to be able to do the trick where you used a power bomb to recharge your energy.

So a bunch of people got stuck on a hard game, so what? I get stuck on Super Metroid all the time, great game though.

Skyrim is a great game the hell you talking about?

EDIT: Also, LOL @ people talking about games are 'too easy' because they don't have the legendary skill level of games like Journey to Silius and shit.

actually we are mostly talking about how modern games tend to be too easy
with mandatory unskippable tutorials you have to wade through each time
and a lot of hand holding including mission pointer
    automatic mission updates
    automatic health regen
    automatic saves
and unlimited saves where ever you want ( this last one is quiteusefull if you want a break though )

Again, it's not the fact that they got stuck. I recently got stuck trying to find the grapple beam.

It's that they're getting stuck on such incredibly easy and obvious stuff like opening missile doors, using bombs or even the freaking Morph Ball.

Most of us here aren't fond of Wii U. Some like KitsuneNight and JCU are straight up Nintendo fanboys.

Actually, your incorrect. The greatest SNES game is "Final Fantasy III/6".

Thing is, people said the same thing about the 3DS... and the DS... Now look at where they are. I don't know how long it's been happening, but as long as I've been following gaming news on the internet (2004 or so), everyone has loved to spell doom for Nintendo's newest consoles. If anything, Nintendo has a problem lately with releasing their consoles too early in an attempt to beat their rivals to the punch.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want one right now, but all of that could, and probably will change. I didn't get my 3DS until the day the XL launched. That's over a year since the original was released.

I see your guys point and agreed for some time, if most of this current generation would try to beat Ninja Gaiden on XBox or VF2 on Saturn or Ghouls N Ghosts on MD they might cry.

I hate tutorials if they are like 30-45 minutes it's overkill so i'll give you that one, but not all modern games are hand-holding fests, play on the harder difficulty. Regenerating health is a bit of a pisser too though (although in Veteran on COD2 it's a lifesaver... literally)

Also, unlimited saves isn't hand-holding, I like a challenge but anyone who thinks 3 lives and no continues is actually a challenge and not just downright unfair is being pretty silly.

How did this mushroom into seven pages again? Oh right, inane argumentation. Anyway take your Metroid and stuff it where the sun don't shine. I'm perfectly okay with a sizeable portion of modern games. First world problems indeed.
