Although it is premature to believe that SONY will thrive with the release of their next generation, no one can deny they are certainly doing quite well out of the blocks in terms of enticing gamers with their marketing strategy.

I've been reading that they've been doing a good job of enticing independent developers that Microsoft seems so intent on alienating. That might be their one advantage, as I think the independent developer will be necessary to break up the current stagnant nature of gaming.

No, they aren't doing well. They've received in influx of shareholders investment cash from selling the real estate. They are projecting a recovery, not a comback. As long as their larger global markets struggle, Sony cannot maintain its PlayStation division which is no longer pulling in the large revenue it was a decade ago.

Their Electronics division is doing poorly. Which is their core main market. And how do you know whether or not PS4 will thrive? You don't even know how much its going to cost or how their DRM policies will be executed.

That's because Sony hasn't yet revealed their Cloud strategy, DRM, and hasn't yet shown their console. They're running a "smoke and mirrors" campaign and its working well.

honestly i dont buy new consoles. the only thing i have is the 3ds. and i seriously am not buying wii u xbox one and ps4
its either sega or nothing. furthermore im not always satisfied with sega either nowadays. anarchy reign is shit so is aliens.
i have to much fun playing EXILE on genesis so i can chew on many unplayed games.

another thing is that i have ps3 and psp of this gen. and i swear by allah if sega would come with a sega console. that i will sell all that shit without hesitation and without regrets.

I seriously doubt there'll be a type of Rise From Your Grave as far as that is concerned. So yeah you'll end up disappointed wishing for that.
I wouldn't bet on much of a future in selling hardware for Sega. Let them stay in the software side of things. That's their core business.
As far as they should be concerned, software is a repeat purchase, so there's far more profit in it.
