I don't own a Wii as it seems too gimmicky at the moment. I am very interested to know what folk think of new Sonic games, myself having become deeply disillusioned after Sonic Adventure 2.

    Me, I liked it!

I picked it up today and have been having a good time with it. The controls are a touch sluggish, and Sonic's acceleration is crap until you get a few skills down the line, but other than that it's a lot of fun. I'd much rather play this than StH360.

I'm not that far in, but the setup so far is oh so unpolished and reliant on memorization and having the right skills.

at this stage. . .Heroes was better

Reviews are disappointing again. I am not able to try it though, the Wii is far too gimmicky for me and much too expansive for what its offering.
I did quite like the recent Sonic games though. Altough the faillings were apparent, the strengths are too. I completed Sonic 360 with pleasure.

Do you just point the Wii-Mote like usual, or hold it sideways like a driving game?

^^^ You hold it sideways like a driving game.

It feels different at first, but it eventually works well. Like all Wii games so far, there absolutely is a decent learning curve.

I'm actually considering buying ソニックと秘密のリング and play it on my student's Wii.
However, that will be determined by how excited I am when I see the awesome used game systems at Hard Off(the most awesome store name ever).

only to those that were unwilling to deal with the learning curve.
Holding Up and jumping occasionally won't work here as it did in Sonic Adventure 2 (my least favorite game in the franchise that I played).
Despite the problems, 'heroes' really was a good game when it wanted to be.

My current problem with Secret Rings is that some levels are impossible without the right skills. Some even make Sonic control better. . .
WHY THE HELL DON'T YOU START WITH THOSE?!?!?

Why should I have to backtrack to old levels and fire-souls just to get through the main game?

I got to one part where there was a pot with wings on it. I jump in and nothing happens. I was like "WTF?" There was no explanation of what to do... except in the instruction manual.

I don't like how Sonic's chest is on fire. Sonic has become really lame. Surely this entire game is one of Sonic's dreams, because no way would he start out with such a lame skill set that is far inferior to Sonic 1.
