Sega is not even the same company it was back then, sega made some incredible games back in the day but that era is over, all that talent has moved on and the industry is different now.I think we should just appreciate the golden era because a new sega system wont be any better than what we already have now,the sega we knew died with the dreamcast, move on.

It doesn't matter, was just saying what video and other posts said were the exact same thing you typed already. However I agree with you. It's sad Sega is the new Atari.

sega can actually make a console i they wanted to.but they are just insecure.
sega could make a console anytime in the future. the only question is: do they want to?

Only 1 out of the 10 consoles or add ons they released in the USA was considered overall successful. Why risk another train wreck which would be attached to the Sega name ? (Even if it goes to the current Sega division and not classic Sega). You are talking to a long time Sega fan btw.

All you proved is that your the same age as me basically and you construct "y our sentenceslike this s ometimes l ike othershere". I remember buying a SMS too and buying and playing Zillion II in 1987. But who cares ? We aren't hipsters. Okay. Ever buy the sms II later like I did? Regardless if no or yes, who cares.

It depends on what kind of console.

An all in 1 sg-1000, sms/gg, md, sega cd, 32 x, saturn and dc console that could d/l and run sonic 4 or android games I'd say yes.

A console like xbox 720 (I refuse to call it xbox one it's fucking stupid) or ps4, then absolutely no.

After 5 years of "new sega console" I finally woke up and any kind of silly hope faded. To put aside their economic condition and the fact a ps4 like console would bankrupt not only them but Sammy immediately would be unintelligent.

Hope doesn't outweigh reality for me.

and sega is not a person its a corporate entity
the name stood for service and games nothing more

and atari is not atari anymore
its infogrames with a name change pretending they are not infogrames

You could say the same about a lot of companies, even nintendo.

After many years have passed, the company changes hands,a chunk of the staff has retired or moved on and your left with a brand name with completely different people rowing the boat.

Nintendo isnt the same company it was when it was making toys in the 60s,it isnt the same company it was when they made the nes or even n64 its constantly evolving, all the great games they made represent the era they were made in but you cant bring that era back its forever gone.

Exactly. But Sega is more like Atari than Nintendo though. Nintendo is a very rich corporation still making consoles. Sega like Atari, is just a name. The logo is worth more than their vg profits as they are sub divisions of another company.

It's actually Atari US from Atari France split from Infogrames from Midway from Warner from the split Atari Computer and Atari VG from original Atari.

And Sega is just a shell and logo from past bought by Sammy and will be passed off to whoever wants to pay for it. Sammy slaps Sega logo on every retro console they can for $ since the patents on Sega past console are over with, so a shit company with a shit product gets a Sega logo on box and Sammy gets $.
