My choices so far would be:

    Saturn

    Dragon Force II
    Grandia
    Policenauts
Actually Policenauts and Dragon Force II have fan translations that have been released! And both of them are quite good!

I know some of them have fan translations but I think it would have been cool to have official western releases for these games for saturn:

    metal slug
    grandia
    snatcher
    policenauts

Saturn translations would get me a lot more excited if I didn't have to use the swap trick or chip the console to read CDRs

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

Segagaga for the Dreamcast. I don't give a rat's arse about most of what's been mentioned, and Policenauts had a neat translation project already so that's done.

I have Saturn Grandia, and despite the Prelude and Digital Museum Expansion discs, it had an inferior framerate compared to the PSX port, even though the Saturn version was more popular (after all, it was Saturn's answer to FF7).

Um, what? The Saturn version runs at almost double the framerate of the PS1 port. Yes there's frame rate dips in some of the dungeons, but the PS1 does it to an even worse extent. I own the Saturn version and played through the PS1 port in it's entirety when I borrowed it from a friend years back. The PS1 port was definitely choppier and quite buggy.

Anyways, what I would like to see translated would be the following:

    Grandia
    Lunar Silver Star Story complete
    Lunar 2 Eternal Blue
    Magical School Lunar
    Sakura Taisen
    Sakura Taisen 2

I never played it to completion, but compared the PS1 version under emulation and it didn't seem as slow during the town maps. If it was just an inaccuracy or something I missed, let me know. I will have to give it another shot.
And nice BR avatar you have, I own it and it's also a good game.

It's definitely inaccuracy I'd say. I played it on my PS2 and it was definitely choppier:

Notice how much faster the mine cart sequence is on the Saturn. Also keep in mind that the Saturn version in that video is running slower than normal since it's being recording from a PAL console. The guy who made the video had to keep editing the PS1 footage to try and keep it in sync with the Saturn version for comparison.

why in seven hells would you want snatcher for saturn to be translated? that has got to be the worst version

    my top 5 for saturn:

    grandia
    policenauts
    dragon force 2
    virus
    j league tsokorou

lol this is a troll or something? the framerate is a lot better on saturn. not psx. the saturn version of grandia is superior in about every way

If we were talking Dreamcast, the list would begin and end* with Segagaga, of course.

*Okay, maybe not end. I'd be thrilled to death with Rent-a-hero fully translated
that's been translated already for years. I can't believe how many posts I read about shining force 3 scenarios anyway. have you people been living in a cave?

I remember Vic Ireland once said that Dragon Force II was a horrible sequel and we weren't missing anything by not getting it. I wonder if he was just blowing smoke.
Vic also gave us the wonderful Shining Wisdom and Albert Oddesy so i'd take what he has to say with a grain of salt.

Just because it's emulated doesn't guarantee that it will be so inaccurate as to be very far from the real thing. Whether or not my sources for comparison were accurate or not is not an issue as long as I retain my willingness to be corrected.

    Magical School Lunar!

I know it has a partial translation/guide, but a full one would be great.
