Maybe it is real maybe it is not someone should test it with a flash cartridge if a rom exist that is
It doesn't look like this version of Mario beats the same problem most of the other Mario "ports" have, aside from the recent PCE/Genesis source ports that is. It looks like Mario but it doesn't play like it and the level design and block placements are all wrong. Why won't people just make their own game character if they are going to make their own game anyway?

It's a proof of concept sheath, those are fun to make.
Why are you people saying it's not real? You can buy it here, just like Halo 2600. $30 is not a bad deal honestly. It's hard finding good platformers on 2600.

I don't mind if it's not exactly like the original SMB either.
I'm not understanding why people aren't believing it's real either. They must think pretty lowly of the 2600 if they think it can't pull this off.
I might actually pick this up. I didn't realize they made more levels.

Everybody wants their favorite console to be a Nintendo. Even if, they won't admit it.![]()
The music and sound effects sound pretty normal for the 2600 to me and I've played a lot of 2600 games already.
Doesn't seem that hard to believe. This was the first thing that came to my mind.
It's 100% done on the 2600 alone, and looks and sounds typical to me honestly. They just did a good job with raster effects and reworking sounds to fit within the limited pitch range of TIA. (only 32 frequencies . . . pretty crap for music as seen in many 2600/7800 games -in this case they used the periodic noise -random width pulse wave- to "fake" some of the pitches too -make them sound less off key)
Those are typical multi-color sprites too, doing 1 color per scanline (1 color plus transparent), the same trick used on Colecovision/MSX/SG1000/etc and Atari 8-bit among others.
Where did you read that?
It actually pushes the stock hardware more than Pitfall 2 with smooth-ish horizontal scrolling and decent sounding music without add-on hardware (and Pitfall 2 didn't do horizontal scrolling at all in any case). The added sound in Pitfall II was from the chip on cart which was mixed to 4-bit PCM and played through one of the TIA channels, hence why it sounds scratchy. (the other TIA channel was still used for SFX)
