Default Atari 7800 UnReleased Games + POKEY

I certainly would have liked more 7800 titles esp with POKEY chip for better sound. Is the POKEY homebrew cartridge adapter that Atari should have released done yet ? Imagine if 7800 came out in 1984 as it should have with LaserDisc add on with Dragons Liar game. Might have changed history. Or if Lynx came out in 1987 as it should have. Well, just want to know if you guys would have liked to buy any of these in late 80s or know more about the POKEY homebrew cart because only 2 games used it Commando and BallBlazer. Ninja Golf should have had it.

That Pit Fighter looks like complete shit. I have a very small library of 7800 titles. I never was aware of the "Pokey" chip. Thanks for sharing.

No problem, maybe somebody here who is also on Atariage can answer if it was finished in a "game genie" type cart and what games the new POKEY or similar upgrade stuff is compatible with what games.

I also think it's cool it had 2 graphics modes, the 7800 was handled by MARIA chip and 2600 by the 2600 chip like the SUSIE or some shit. POKEY was an upgrade chip because 7800 had 2600 chip sound for 2600 backward compatibility which that was cool. I think somebody made a add on that goes on ext board of 7800 originally for laserdisc, but I have to look into that. And MS PacMan 7800 game and Atari 7800 aka 3600 itself was made by hackers that Atari once sued but hired by Atari to do those I think.

This guy has an admitted bias to it, but gives out good info on it too.

    Found some info.

    2600 + 5200 = 7800

"According to Legacy's website, the 7800 Expansion makes the 7800 even better by adding 128K of extra available program memory, a built in High Score capability, and a 15 PIN/Serial port to enable use with keyboards, disk drives, printers, and modems."
