NTSC crystal for a PAL unit

Hey all,

I'm looking to get an NTSC crystal for my PAL MD because as you probably know the crystal affects the audio generated by the system. If anyone has any NTSC crystals or would mind extracting one from a dead Genesis for me I'd love to buy it from you! I'm just looking for a crystal as the cost of shipping an entire Genesis system over to the UK would be rather expensive.

That's rather pricey, even I wouldn't go for that. I'm trying to look for one too, I'd like to convert that PAL SMS II I have into a full-on NTSC console and this is the only part I need.

I asked a supplier (new oscillators) on these and the price was nuts, around $20+ each because they aren't a standard/sort after unit. I declined lol!

Yeah that's rather pricey still. Was hoping that someone might be able to buy a broken/dirt cheap Genesis and maybe help me out and keep the other bits for any other project they might have.

That might be hard, I have yet to find an unrepairable console.
That Is why I linked that other site, all in all, might end up actually being the easiest/cheapest option.

I admit I would not mind a couple PAL crystals here on my side of the world

Hehe, I was kind of expecting you to come up with this.
I wanted to do a switchable oscillator mod, so I would still need the NTSC crystal too
But heh.. I guess i could... think about it.
Or maybe someone else will take on the trade Idea.
