Another thing I think I should add. FFVII is a good game, but it is incredibly overrated. The only thing impressive about the graphics is the integration of full motion video with real time rendering, it's important to mention that most things being rendered in real time look like complete shit for 1997 and have like, no texturing at all.

It's a really good game, it's one of the best in the Final Fantasy series, but it's not Square's best RPG, and I'd go as far as to say that it's probably not even in the top 10 best RPGs on the system.

It might be specific to my tastes, but there's only around 30 something PS1 games I enjoy playing to this day, with around 20 something for the Saturn. Considering the relative sizes of the libraries that's pretty darn good, better than the N64 which is 10 something.

Saturn was my favorite system for a long time. I don't really play it as much anymore, but boy did I log in a lot of hours playing NiGHTS, Burning Rangers, Daytona USA. And how about other classics like World Series Baseball '98, Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend, the Panzer Dragoon Series (Saga is probably my favorite RPG all-time) Darius Gaiden, man so many great exclusive games on the system.

    Meanwhile in 1997-1998.
I've argued, in that other thread, that the 1997 lineup for the Saturn was pretty good. I preferred Shining: The Holy Ark over Final Fantasy VII and I'd owned both consoles and games during that year. It all boils down to advertising and product awareness.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."
