GTA V, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed etc all exclusive? Realistically, in my opinion, short of multiple high profile exclusives that would never happen, there are no games that can do this at this point. The Wii U is selling disastrously badly, core gamers outside of the hardcore Nintendo fans are apathetic to the console and are looking to the PS4 and Xbone, and the super casual market that propelled the Wii to success couldn't care less about it. With the upcoming console launches and the current console gamers suffering from generation fatigue, I cannot see any realistic scenario that would lead to the masses flocking to the Wii U.

If Wii U had a lot of awesome games to play, it would still be competing with the Xbox 360, PS3, and future generation hardware. It's too little too late for Nintendo to get the masses, unless they heavily subsidize it and throw it out there at a competitively cheap cost. What they need to do right now is sell the Wii U for $179 and include Super Mario, Zelda, or even the new Sonic game with it. It needs to be heavily marketed with a shift to relaunching & relying again on the brand name "Nintendo" Wii U.

Nintendo's not dead yet, but it seems like they want to be.

They are already selling the Wii U and 3DS at a loss. I don't see them dropping the price of the Wii U anytime soon.

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Yeah, but what I'm suggesting above is what would be necessary to get people to buy the WiiU in large numbers. It needs to be cheap, it needs to be marketed and have the toy games kids want for Christmas, and only then will it take off and open the door to having better 3rd party investment. Nintendo's not brazen enough to afford it and shoot for a huge market like that, they will slowly sell WiiU, moneyhat 3rd parties, and develop their own games at a snails pace. It's safe and it's all they know.

I think Nintendo's brand is almost invincible enough to survive a complete failure to break even or lose money if they did try. I would say it's better than embodying the image of a business that recycles everything, awkwardly markets it, and seems to be slowly suffocating with each generation. If they mothballed the Japanese old fart and car salesman routine, got in some new blood or hotshot game designers with a free hand on expressing themselves, I think they stand a better chance at dominating the console market than anybody.

That's not even touching on the disaster that is their online ecosystem. They need a miracle, and they probably won't make any real money off this dud.

The games it needs right now are better third-part ones, not more rehashes of first party games. A new Zelda, Mario, etc aren't going to appeal to the masses [or me] (bored to fucking tears of 'em).

Nintendo needs to do more deals like what they did with Sega to publish the latest Sonic games and with Capcom with the Resident Evil games on the GameCube.

Looks as if Ubi Soft and Sega are the only major 3rd party publishers interested in the WiiU. I have a feeling that will change soon.

Nintendo needs to stop pandering to their fanboys and come up with some new shit. I can't understand how anyone could be excited about a new Mario or Zelda game. They're relying on their loyalists to keep them afloat, but with current and upcoming consoles and the PC offering a much better experience, they won't be able to sustain them in the long term. You need to attract new buyers and they're doing a horrible job of it so far.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

B)Create an add-on for the system
    C) Sell it for cheaper and pack Sonic Lpst World with it.
