    Default CXA1034 Pinout

So, I'm going to do a stereo composite mod on a Genesis 1. I don't want to use the headphone jack and bypass the preamp. I know that left and right are pins 1 and 8 on the CXA1034 chip. However, I don't know which one is left and which one is right. Any ideas?

You can't just bypass an amp though, it's not line level. It'll be so quiet you'll hear your neighbors having sex.

You need to design an op amp.

Besides, a thread on this was made: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthr...volume-control

Still needs an op amp to be line level.

I suggest you understand it's still not line level and will be too quiet. You can't just tap the pre-amp.

    I'm done here.

That was made for a reason.

Look, you can hear it just fine in the video. I wish someone would just answer the question I asked.

Lol you realize people in videos can amplify it to make it sound right, right?

Besides, the link I posted answers your question, but you don't care.

And when you come saying it's not loud enough, I'm gonna say I told you so.

Looks like the datasheet is next to impossible to find. I suggest you play something like Street Fighter 2, and throw hadokens from either side of the screen, and see if they match up with your channels - that should give you a good idea as to which side is which.

I'm sorry, I didn't check the link because you came in using it to tell me what I was doing was wrong so I didn't assume it would answer my question. He said in his comments it this won't effect the output volume and it looks to be going straight to the T.V. I just don't see what he would have to gain to lie about it. Anyhow, if I'm wrong and I put my trust in the wrong place, I won't come back to complain because I'll already know that I'm wrong and where I can go to get the info I need to build an amp to fix it.

His link covered it. Pin 1 is left and pin 8 is right.

Apologizing for doubting, and assuming you knew better, would be a start you know, when you find that it's not quite loud enough and you really need to crank your volume to hear anything.

Just because someone makes a video, doesn't mean they actually know what they are doing. Hell they couldn't even tell which is left and right.. lol

And you can apologize for not having any tact. It would have been easy enough to answer the question, but then interject your information, without an attitude. But whatever, man. I'm just a newb and new people don't deserve respect. Also, realize the difference between him not knowing and not saying.

I gave you warning that there's more to it. I told you you'd need an op-amp, but you figured what the hell, the youtube guy will know better..

So I didn't want to just give you that information, I wanted you to learn about that link I gave you, because it not only tells you left and right, but it also tells you how to properly amp it.

Then simply say, that the link tells which is left and right, but that it will also show you how to amplify the signal which you will need to do. Regardless of if you see it or not, you have an attitude because I'm not simply trusting you over him. Please, tell me why I should? I don't know either of you and it hurts nothing to do it his way and do an amp later. All I'm saying is you could have been more tactful. Your last comment in the other thread makes it clear you have a negative attitude towards me.

I love these threads where noobs just don't use search. Nearly everything is covered like 10 times altho this matter ain't because I made that post week ago. Altho most funny thing is those switch posts, there is like 20 tutorials made by persons who learned first by question the switch mod then made a yet another tutorial how to make the exact same mod that has covered like 20 times already. Well no admins in this forum makes things happen.

Still evildragon, you could be more nicer even tho he did not use search, it is not recommended to be arrogant towards newbies. They learn as they find new things and this will happen again and again in future also. If you cannot handle it then i could suggest not posting at all or just the link which should be enough.
