hmm what cables are you using? I have a megadrive 1 connected to a megacd (segacd) and then use a RGB cable to plug it to my tv and both systems use the same type of power adaptor 10v 1.2A

btw why I asked a while ago if someone could help me with my 32X issue I have tried it on a megadrive 1 and 2 and used the sega power adaptor and it still does the same flickering screen issue has a capacitor blow or something inside the 32x? how can i fix it? please can someone help me.

I'm having issues with my model 1 Sega CD. I have three games: 1 legit, 2 burned. Dungeon Explorer, Sonic CD(burned) and Sonic Megamix (kickarse game btw. I want to give the development team a cookie. Or a cheesecake. Mmm cheesecake.). So.. the Sega CD's access light blinks constantly when the system is first powered on, and it ejects the disc tray constantly. Even if I put a disc in, it pops it back out. HOWEVER, if I hold the system sideways, it works like a charm.

BUT here's the issue. Megamix and DE work fine, but after a while of playing, the system just.. stops reading the disc. It gets warm, and it stops reading the disc.. it takes a LONG time. Sonic CD on the other hand, loads, but plays music very rarely, and only works correctly if the system is set on it's side. Megamix takes forever for the system to get hot, DE is the same way, but Sonic CD just.. doesn't work right. It's probably a burner issue though.

Anyway, after the game finally quits, the disc does the whole odd spin, scan, spin, but doesn't load.. any game does that. What could be wrong?

Are you using the 32x cable? The 32x required a cable that ran from the Genesis AV port to the input on the back of the 32x.. what you described seems like something that could be caused by that.. and if you are, check that the cable is okay. I'm guess since you didn't have the AC adapter, you didn't have the 32x cable.

Are the Sega CD back-up ram carts battery powered? If so how easy are they to replace?

Mine isn't dead or anything. I just want to know if I have that to look forward to.

    Thanks!

Will Genesis/mega drive die if powered with 12V 1.2a power supply? Does it overheat or suffer anykind?

Be true to yourself. GFX doesn't matter, the game does. If you are intrested to donate one NTSC Genesis for hardware testing purposes, please pm me.

12V is perfectly fine, 14V and more will be problematic regards to heat.

Default power supplys of sega megadrives

Hello i have 3 sega megadrives and one of them is an asian PAL model i was wondering if this would be ok to use with the uk power supply which is 240v 10v 1.2a.

The asian megadrive does say 10v 1.2a on the bottom so maybe im already answering my own question.

I only bought it for the top as i had my original converted but couldnt fit japanese cartridges in without ruining the cartridge slot.

I was thinking of keeping the console as a spare as the circuitry inside is imaculate so just wondered about the power supply.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

You have a few options for getting audio. If you have a model 1 Genesis, then just get one of these cables and plug it into the Genesis' headphone jack (this solution also works for a Sega CDX). If you have a Sega CD connected to your Genesis, then you can get ordinary stereo RCA cables and plug them to the Sega CD's audio out. If you're stuck with a model 2 Genesis and no other options, you can get a SCART switch that splits out the audio like this.
Hi Assman, what are my audio options for this setup for a JVC X'eye?

    Thanks

You can use the UK power supply without any issues, that's what I do (well, mine is regular EU one :P) and nothing has and ever wil blow up that way ^^

I don't have an X'eye, but from what I've heard, it has both a headphone jack (for which you can get one of the cables I linked to in the post of mine that you quoted) and standard RCA-style audio out (for which you can get a stereo audio cable like this). It shouldn't matter which way you go.

You are right, I got home and it does have a headphone jack and the standard rca audio outs. So if I use these outs for the audio, and the a/v out with scart cable + scart to component box for the video, then the audio will be synched up?

What is the purpose of the audio mod that Gohan X shows on this page then?

    Default Master System Converter 2

    Hello,

I got a question concerning the Master System Converter 2. As far as I know the Master System had no region lock. But of course 50/60Hz was an issue.

I am going to buy a Japanese MegaDrive2 that is modded and let's me switch between 50/60Hz and PAL/JP/US. I would like to know how that system will work with a MasterSystemConverter 2. The MSC2 was a PAL-only release. Will I be able to play PAL and JP/US MasterSystem games in 60Hz? Or do I have to modify the Converter to 60Hz as well?

    Many thanks in advance.

So changing the Hz-setting of the MD will also change the Hz-setting of the unmodded MSC2?
