Thanks Jeroi en Tmee. I found this guy offering me a Jaguar psu with ntsc snes power connector attached. It says 9v, 1.2A but according to him measures about 12v offload.
I think this would serve my needs but like to check with the pro's first![]()

Hi all, recently picked up a Model 1 VA7 for use with my XRGB-3 via RGB and the image shows jail bars. Any fix or pointers other than using a 32X? I have a model 1 HD non-TMSS on the way.
I picked up a Sega CD model 2 back in June (you know, the one where you attach the Genesis on the side), and instead of a model 2 Genesis it has a model 1 attached. I spent 20 bucks on it, and it came with Contra Hard Corps and Sonic 2, 1 controller, and one clearly f*cked controller. I plan on selling it soon, and I went to test it out tonight...
Since there were no hookups, I was going to mix and match parts from my other Sega CD model 2 and Sega model 1. I have a/c adapters that will work, but the RF switch will not fit!
So, the RF switch that works with the 3 model 1's that I have, but will not even fit into the hole on one attached to the Sega CD. What the hell is going on? Was there a change in diameter of RF switches while the model 1 was being made? I've never seen this before.
Help!
RF switch in console MD2 and after that consoles dont support backwards to Mega Drive 1 hardware. Old MS rf switch or NES rf switch do support. The Mega Drive 1 used RCA for RF but after First models, Sega used only 9pin s-video connector to output rf-video-rgb-stereo. So you need to have MD2/genesis2 9pin output cable RF/VIDEO/RGBSCART. If your console did not provide this you must buy one from ebay.

As you can read from here, md scart is EUROPEAN PIN system, where your scart socket is JAPANESE STYLE SCART. You will need to modify your scart cable.
1. Open scart plug, usually the socket divides to 2 sections, if not, you must pull the pins out first push holdin metal with small screwdriver and then pull the pins out.
2. Reinput the pins that differ from EU and JP scart pinouts.

It appears that that dont fully support support genesis resolution. It uses bad upscaling for genesis. I would consider if I was you to buy scart rgb to YUV convertor. Youse the yuv convertor that handles full rgb resolutions. They cost arround 70$. the best setup for megadrive, SNES, dreamcast, PS1 and PS2 some game cubes is scart switch to yuv covnerter, so you can chose other scart sources on the fly. And believe me why SCART for PS2 is the best: PS1 games dont support yuv output on PS2. Sobest is to output the best quality out of PS2 via rgb scart, then convert the singal with YUV convertor. This way you'll get the best picture out of PS1 and PS2 games on PS2 system.

Hi Jerol,
I have an SCART>JPN adapter for use with the XRGB-3. The image quality's fantastic, except for the jail bars.
Hi again,
i have bought 3 32x's now thinking that they are causing the problem.
I then thought it would be the sync signal sent from the cartridge pins (if they are even sent this way?!) so i went out and bought another mega drive (model 2 this time with tmss) nothing is fixing the problem.
has anyone here come across this problem? (garbled display that cuts out often only when using 32x)
of those who have experence of it did you fix it?
How did you fix it?
So, I bought a Sega CD, 32x, and Gens 2, with 8 games from this old man for 25 bucks. He says he didn't have the matching power for the Sega CD, he said he used to use the Nintendo one. I knew that the drives were prone to the fuse going. And bought it since at least I could flip the 32x and get my money back.
I just replaced the fuse put in a disc, unit powers up, doesn't read and seems to be scratching.
I see that spindle is low and is causing the discs to scratch when spinning? Any fixes? Curse you old man and your deception!

I cut up four foam pieces from a nerf dart into 1/8th inch pieces and placed them over the rods where the laser assembly rests. The discs now sit well above the casing and don't scratch anymore. Any permanent solutions?
"Hey there, newbie here with a variant of the old Mega CD problem. I've tried asking on digitpress.com, but to no avail "
I have the exact same problem with my model 1 MegaCD, i've tried allsorts but for the life of me i can't find anything wrong with either of the consoles.

Greetings! I've had my Genesis model 1 since 93 (I think, feels like forever ago!) and it's recently taken a turn for the worst. When I turn my Genesis on all I get is a loud obnoxious buzzing sound and a black screen. The red LED light does indeed come on, and the voltage regulators do get hot after a few minutes.
This happens with any game I own and I have cleaned the pin connector various times. Upon removing my pcb I've found that on the underside of where my Voltage Regulators are soldered in there are some brown burn spots.
Could this two failed voltage regulators or something more? Thanks in advance for your help.
I plugged the Jap MD's original power adapter Into the stepdown adapter and then into UK wall socket (240w).put in few games and everything was fine.
was playing for about an hour and then all the sudden MD turned off!
turned out that the stepdown adapter is dead for some reason..still happy that nothing happened to my hard to find japanese MD,and ended up buying a Pal MD power adapter which works fine with jap MD.
but I still wonder what caused the step-down transformer to die?
it was only few weeks old,and never had any problems with Saturn before.![]()
Is the way to mod the Genesis 2 for S-video the exact same as modding a JVC X Eye?
Hello, there.
Quick Question - Should Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Sonic 3 Plugged into Sonic & Knuckles, Both PAL Copies) Work through a 32X?
with the two carts plugged directly into a PAL Mega Drive 2, and a PAL Multi-Mega, S3&K Loads normally.
However, If I plug them into the 32X (Either into the MDII or MM) Sonic & Knuckles Loads, Ignoring Sonic 3 Plugged into the top.
Is this expected behaviour? Should the 32X Be able to pass the Lock-on Data through?
Hey guys I'm a little new here but has a question about multi (pirated) carts.
I got a Super 12 in 1 at my local pawn shop and it's a Mega Drive game, but I heard you can plug it into a game genie to play with the genesis. Does this work with all mega drive carts? Or better yet has anyone heard of a pirate cart having region locking?
