I have a question about RGBs. I have recently acquired a Optoma EP758 Projector that accepts (Analog RGB, YPbPr (480p/576p/720p/
1080i), YCbCr (480i/576i) and RGBsync) via the VGA input. Does RGBs automatically split the Sync signal from the composite line, or do I still need a LM1881 so strip the signal? I can't seem to find a direct answer for this. Thanks in advance!
Yesterday, I came into possession of a Mk 2 Genesis. A/V works fine using an RF adapter, but trying to use a composite cable results in "No Signal" to my TV. I tried two composite cables that work with my 32x, so the issue is definitely with the Genesis. I remember once reading about this sort of issue caused by a cold solder joint, but my search-fu on this site is failing me. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
So I have a segacd 2 and a sega genesis 2 and the only way I can get sound to come from my cd games is to turn the systems on their side and propping them up vertically.
I suspect its the Cd drive motor failing but im not sure.
How do I fix this?
I have some cd rom motors and some soddering exp.
But no clue where to start.
And Im not sure I want to even try it until it dies first.
Any input?
Just wanted to pass by here again to say that I solved my problem. It was all due to a ground pin that wasn't actually wired on my SCART to RCA adapter. All is well now.
"I say leave it how it is, I find it amusing you're forced to play it on its side."
Its because the cd is not balanced and the motor is getting old.
Oh and I did have to fix it anyways, friggin girl used the nes power adapter on it and fried my fuse.

Speaking of SegaCDs and A/C Adapters, I recently picked up a model 2 SegaCD and the included A/C adapter is a 1602-1 model. I'm wondering if this is the correct A/C adapter because the adapter lists itself as 10v and the SegaCD requires 9v. Anyone know if this is the correct 1601 revision?

Be true to yourself. GFX doesn't matter, the game does. If you are intrested to donate one NTSC Genesis for hardware testing purposes, please pm me.
I have a model 2 SEGA CD that at first, didn't do anything, no power. I then replaced the fuse: Sweet, now I have power, but it wouldn't read the disc, saying it was reading when I"m pretty sure it wasn't and always said no disc.
I thought, maybe it's the laser, sooooo I got a new one and replaced it. Same deal. Is there anything I can do? Is it a motor issue?
When I put in a CD/game into the SEGA CD and boot it, I get the reading screen then it goes to the CD player screen regardless of what software is in it. Then it'll say its reading and eventually say no disc. I can't move the cursor except when I open the drive and it is not currently trying to read discs.
Thanks in advance for the tips.
PS: For the SEGA Genesis Model 2 and SEGA CD I am using official SEGA AC adaptors.
PPS: I haven't tried adjusting the pot, but it's a new laser.
