Default this is pertaining to my pervious post under problems with my sega cd model 1

i got some grease, however for the life of me i can't figure out how to put the drive tray back in to it, its the sony model drive. if someone can give me detailed instructions on how to re align the gears, and get the drive tray back in that would be great! i cruised the fourms and couldn't find what i needed. however if this question has allready been answered (i figure it has) i apologize and would be grateful for a link to the proper information.

about the nomad screen, if you could find an active LCD that took either a composite, or RGB + Csync video signal you could tap the nomads internal pins and wire it to the driver board for the new screen, if it was all small enough to fit you could probably replace it, also you would have to tap the internal power.

So my Sega CD blew out a few months ago due to an error in getting power back to my house after a power outage. I've learned that it's the console itself, not the power adapter, so does anyone know if I just blew a fuse or something and could replace it easily? Or should I just get a new Sega CD :\

If replacing the fuse in the MCD won't help then the fix will be more tedious to perform...

    Hi guys,

I live in Europe and I wanna play MKII and SFII:SCE at full speed not slow-ass pal speed. I'm playing a EU Megadrive model 2.

Will this thingy do that for me or is that just wishfull thinking?

    http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/Sega-Megadri...item2ea8b230a3

Is there any way to play my pal games on full speed without having to mod (i.e. a cable or cart or anything like that)?

    Thanks!

Nope. To play in NTSC mode you need to mod the console.. Those adapters are just to get rid of the region lockout systems in some games, but they will always run at the console native speed (In your case 50 FPS).

AWWW! I just got my MKII and SFII back after 15 years and I tell ya: after playing them on Kega the past few years it's really hard to go back to 50 frikkin frames a second. At first I just thought my MD was fucked up or something. Now it looks like that's technically true

Is it hard to mod? Well I guess I could muster up a guide or something.

    Thanks for the reply Nuno!

the mod is very simple, especially if done unswitchable way

What do you mean 'unswitchable' way? And how easy?

I'm a real dummy when it comes to this sort of thing so I really appreciate the help

unswitchable as in put into 60Hz and you cannot change it without adding a switch... you only have to cut through one trace on the board, then things get into 60Hz and stay there.

    Well that sounds real easy

But will it affect my pal games that are optimized for pal (like Alien Soldier, which runs perfect speed and no borders)? Will it make them go crazy?

shinobimusahi, with the genesis model 2 the mini din on the back does have stereo output. however on the original genesis model 1 the only stereo out is out of the headphone jack. if i recall however if you have a sega cd hooked up you can tap the audio from the RCA jacks on the sega cd unit thats hooked up. however the easiest way to get stereo audio out a genesis one is simply use a mono (yellow white) video cable out the back and then get something like a stereo mini jack to stereo RCA cable like this one http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3452165 or just a stereo mini jack to rca adapter and run your own rca cables of whatever length you need. if you really want to you can always build a custom genesis one cable by getting the din connector and wiring up the video and ground pins and running a short stereo mini jack cable out of it as well to the front, and all 3 RCA jacks on the end of it. hope this helps
