Battle High 2 is a retro-style fighting game on Xbox Live Indie Games. It features a cast of characters with elemental powers fighting at a high school for the elementally gifted. The gameplay definitely brings Fatal Fury to mind.

I bought the first one a looong time ago and really enjoyed it, downloaded the demo of the 2nd and plan on buying the full version once I get off my ass and get around to it.
Both are fun 2D fighters that are definitely worth the $2 USD or so they sell for.
