    Steam turns 10 today!

I still remember it like it was just yesterday having to wait endlessly for the HL2 patch to download on my then 56k line. Oh the horror!! Then having to struggle to figure out how to get the damn thing in offline mode.

I remember when Steam came out, and a friend of mine was going on and on about how awesome steam was,
and he'd name all these games that you could get from there, and sometimes he'd bitch about slow updates or something..

Me, being a pirate in every way didn't get it, and I still don't have steam, should I try it out?

is there free stuff on there that I could try out first?

Steam revolutionized gaming for me, now mostly everything I own is via DD and I don't mind it at all.

They have free stuff once in a while, and I think some things are free by default (probably some demos too, I'm not sure).

I have a Steam account, but the only thing on it is Portal, which I got several years ago when they had it for free.
6 days older than SEGA Genesis
