    Default Removing Labels from Carts

    I have 2 NES Carts I don't need

What's the best to remove Labels from Carts

Is Goo Gone good if I wipe it on it on the label

I know a hair drier on Low does it also, But I don't have one

Goo Gone will make quick work of it. I did a couple of carts when I was doing my Mega Everdrive.

denatured alcohol also works well - goo gone works well. I think the best method is definitely the hair dryer though.

I've tried a few different methods. Tea Tree Oil is a bad idea, it loves to eat certain kinds of plastics (also depends on the surface of the plastic). An eraser for the remaining residue is okay but requires a lot of elbow grease. Alcohol doesn't work very well.

Everyone recommends the hair dryer. I'll have to try it out myself, got a lot of carts to do...

Hair dryers are iffy at best. Go out and buy a heat gun like used for peeling paint. $20 and well worth it. Use it on low heat setting, holding back about 4 inches from the game cartridge surface. Heat for about 30 seconds and the label peels off like butter. Follow up with goo gone to remove the residue and you will never know a label was there.
    It is finished!

I used a spare double dribble cart I got for two dollars for my NES everdrive. First I got off what I could with my fingers which wasn't much but what I did after, I put it in this mixture of chemicals overnight:

    Dishwasher Rinse Aid
Two of the packets of dish washing soap - the ones that disintegrate
    Rubbing Alcohol
    Windex

It came right off easily, no marks or residue.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

Heat gun on plastic is risky, Id rather try the hair dryer first.

Goo Gone doesnt work well on the labels since they are laminated and the goo doesn't penetrate the laminate. I usually soak the shell in hot water for a while to get the label off, or at least the laminate, and once the label is off Goo Gone will mop up the adhesive, and mild soap and water will clean the Goo Gone off. Just be careful, the Goo Gone can discolor the plastic if it soaks too long.
