I've been playing Monster World IV and it has been an absolute joy - hopefully if there is another installment it will build off of the mechanics, expand on the game-play as well as capitalize upon the charm the IV game certainly encompasses.

Oh, I wish. I think Shantae would steal the show in popularity with Half Genie Hero coming out, despite it being inspired by Monster World. Monster World is amazing!

In related news: I'm looking for an SRAM patched Wonder Boy in Monster World and Monster World IV for my sparkly new EverDrive-MD v3! I'd really like to save my game with SRAM.

I was just on that page! The first few links are long gone. The last file at the end of page 2, "Wonderboy 5 (MonsterWorld 3) (UE) [!] (SRAM).zip" looks like a patch. I extracted an .ips file out of it. What do I do with that? How do I add it to the normal ROM? Thanks for the help!

It's been ages since I've used DOS. I'm going to try Lunar IPS and see if I can hard patch these ROMS myself. Big thanks to Shin Chan and Terry Bogard's cat!

I'm going to try Lunar IPS and see if I can hard patch these ROMS myself.

It's actually super easy, you choose apply IPS patch then choose the ips file, then choose the rom.

And to make it even easier you can just associate .ips files with lunar ips
then next time you can just double click the ips patch and skip a step.

Got both Wonder Boy in Monster World and MW IV working with Lunar IPS! That program is crazy easy to use! I would rep you if I could!
