Default Boogerman HD Kickstarter - 20th Anniversary!

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...the-video-game

Personally.... These really need to stop! But like before... Good luck to them!

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...ootball-league

Mutant Football got no where close to funding...

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-back?ref=live

And James Pond got no where close as well and was canceled....

So why do they think Boogerman is going to work?

It's great that yet another Genesis game wants to make a return, but $375000? Why so greedy? Are there any kickstarter pages that ask for reasonable amounts of money? This project won't get funded, it won't even get 15%.

James Pond, General Chaos, Mutant League Football, and now Boogerman can be added to the list of failed projects. The only reason Mighty Number 9 was able to swindle so much money was because people like Mega Man. That project had insanely greedy donation goals, but I guess fans were that desperate just to play another game like it. These 4 Genesis games are mostly just "one hit wonders" and shouldn't price themselves like Mighty Number 9.

I seriously doubt there's over a quarter million dollars worth of Boogerman support out there.

God I wish I was a billionaire, I'd fund all these crazy projects just for the lulz of it. (not to mention all the parties I'd be invited too!)

Personally, I enjoyed it and have always wanted to see a sequel. But not through Kickstarter, and certainly not some ugly, bland remake.

I was really perplexed by the James Pond Kickstarter. Robocod is a pretty awful game. The only people who seem to like it are Amiga fanboys (not trying to get anyone angry here ). Actually, I don't really like most Western developed games from the 1980s-1990s. The level designs are usually terrible, and they're often difficult because of tons of cheap deaths instead of legitimate challenge. I don't see the Boogerman Kickstarter succeeding, but that's just my $0.02.

Good luck to them but there really have been too many of these things of late. Nostalgia will only get you so far, especially when the original game had no sequels and is not that well known.

EDIT: Another problem that a lot of these things have is that they don't really suggest that any work that has been done before the funding started. The James Pond kickstarter was quite bad for this. It's not enough to simply say, "we want to make a game, we have a few ideas, give us the money", they need to show that they have put work in already otherwise everything is based on faith alone.

Exactly!! That on top of such a high goal. The Road Redemption Game did that part right! You got a few test of what the game will look like. Something tangible! Then a low goal of $160,000.

I mean, do they really think "MegaMan/Mighty #9 got funded, so should Boogerman!?!? Really!?!

The inclusion of Grant Kirkhope will surely help them reach their goal.

Is Chris Tremmel the owner of Toy Ghost? And did he buy back the Boogerman IP from Interplay?

I'll only help fund the project if they have a physical edition tier.

So I sent a PM to Chris that stated-

"How did you guys acquire the Boogerman IP from Interplay? Also, will there be a physical edition tier for backer rewards?"

    and he responded-

"We have speaking with them for about 5 years on and off, finally both parties agreed that the timing was right!

As of right now, there is no physical edition planned, but it's not off the table entirely. It simply introduces another level of compexity and cost when it comes to the consoles... We are going to start talking about though.

    Have a good night!

    Chris.
    "

Here's hoping they have a physical edition tier so that I can actually pledge some money down.

What we need is a Kickstarter to help Ron Gilbert buy back the Monkey Island IP from Disney.

oh and one to help get Ed Annunziata the Ecco The Dolphin IP back.

I was excited to hear that a new "Mutant League Football" game was being created but after reading about the new concepts/controls, I lost interest in the project. I am not looking to play a new Android game.
