I'm pretty sure Project Y will ship. It seems pretty far along, and at this point, if it doesn't release, WM is finished. I doubt very many people would fund another title after Project Y/N if WM fails to deliver.

Project Y and Project N have been PR disasters for WM. At this point, there seems to be a lot of distrust and worry, but I'm sure that completing the games and delivering the product will go a long way to rebuilding that trust. It's all in WM and Fonzie's hands now.

i know i'm basically preaching to the choir here, but it really didn't have to be this way - even the delays would've been okay, with just any kinda even semi-regular updates, like kickstarters tend to see. if there's so very much content, a handful of screens, some video, even just notes of what's been happening would quell so much of the fussing...i know we keep hearing dude's a perfectionist & putting everything into this, but for those of us who threw $ at it? it's been years, and we've seen/heard next to nothing.

no one should have to be told this is going about this poorly, and will make any future updates infinitely harder. the hopes that the product shuts everyone up are understandable too, but next time i'd more likely just not invest & see what comes of it, since the faith is diminished.

I already made my case on the official site and i know Tulio agree's with me, Project y has more information out there then project n and its been over six months since we got anything for project n besides the "tea time video is being put together" and that never happened. Either way sorry for the derailment, i hope Fonzie pays before the two weeks are up. If not, this does not help the image of watermelon.

At this point, even if (and that's a HUGE IF) these games are phenomenal, I doubt that the hardcore fans would fund anymore development for Watermelon games. Any basic marketing class (or even common sense, really) says that your customers are ALWAYS your #1 priority. As a company, Watermelon games seems to have forgotten this. Add to this that developers like Sasha are now spreading the word that they can't be trusted, and their revenue stream on both ends can easily dry up. At this time, they don't even have anything for sale in their own store.

How hard is it to log on into your own forum, and engage in a little positive marketing? "Hey guys, we just accomplished this, and it will be awesome! Everything is on track at this time", or "We tried this, but we feel it's not the direction that we want to go in, so it may set up back a bit due to quality concerns."

Look at the Bloodstained group. These guys know and appreciate that people have funded them via their hard earned money, and are excited to give progress updates without spoiling the game. That's how you do things.

Looks at Piko on these very forums. This guy is very transparent about his business, and how things are going. As a customer, I can appreciate that. He's open to constructive criticism, and I have yet to see him get defensive. His customer service is great. You can tell that he really tries. Same with Ruko, the developer for Majikana. Stand up guys from what I've seen.

Pier Solar was a decent game, but not a spectacular one for all of the time that it took to develop. IMO, Watermelon is still in the proving phase on making quality games. Customer service is the one area they could be excelling in. Their contributors should be #1.

I'm curious as to see if all the WM defectors will form another company with another programmer at some point.

I would like to support WM's work more, but there simply isn't anything to report. No press releases, no demos for previews or review builds for media, and updates are few and far between. I will be the first to admit that their programming and packaging are top notch, but their press and marketing have been horrible thus far.

Fonzie made a reply on the official forums, pretty much said if you are unhappy about updates get a refund and leave. So his way or the highway and that really sucks, i am less likely to fund another project now. http://www.magicalgamefactory.com/en...atement_21441/

Swings and roundabouts, I've invested a lot in Project Y. Hopefully it comes to fruition!

This is absolutely awful... I don't really know what Fonzie is thinking... I hope this all gets cleared up. What a bad example of PR. I seriously wonder what would happen if someone showed this nonsense to a game journalism group. I think WM and Fonzie would get raked over the coals. Really, there is a lot of questionable/shady stuff going on here... WM should be way more conscious and careful about how they approach things from here on out. Just sayin'... Game sites love tearing these kinds of stories up.

It sounds like Fonzie is mentally ill and not receiving treatment.

If it makes you feel any better, I delayed Harvy for nearly a year to build SecondBASIC, so sometimes a little break away from a project is needed

I get what you're saying though. If it's okay with you, I'll send you a PM or email later on this evening
