Default Sony PVM / BVM - interference

I got a Sony BVM 14M4DE yesterday - while I no doubt need to spend more time setting up various parameters I can safely say that 800 lines on a 14" screen simply looks sensational
I do however have a problem with what looks like interference, which I hope you may be able to help me out with:
    - with the Neo Geo, every so often I get interference type moving diagonal lines from bottom right to top left corner
    - with the Genesis, every so often I get some horizontal interference type lines appearing across the screen
I am connected to the BVM via BNC to female Scart RGB breakout cable from Retrogaming and to that I conenct via Scart RGB cable for both systems.
When connected via Scart RGB to a LCD TV there was no interference on either system, leaving me to believe that the problem is either in the BNC-female Scart breakout cables or something associated with the monitor.
One possible lead that I have found:
    http://forums.arcade-museum.com/show...=144070&page=2
This concerns the same Neo Geo diagonal lines interference that I am experiencing - it is suggested that the ground cable for the monitor should be removed (monitor is connected via a PC power cable, with live, neutral and ground) since this can be a source of intereference.
    Another lead:
    http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showth...-across-screen
This points to jumpering GND and FG / FND on the arcade PSU since this can be a source of interference, also suggesting that this can be a grounding issue.
I will definietly see if this is the cause, in the meantime I would be greatful for any pointers on where else to troubleshoot.

Thanks, corrected the URL's and whats more important I managed to solve the problem Hope this helps someone: It turned out to be a grounding issue. Basically having two devices connected with different ground was creating a grounding loop antenna and hence the interference. Diagnosed with a three prong --> two prong wall plug adapter and then just used different wall sockets and resolved this for both systems.

Anyhow, while I am totally crap with a camera and even more so with photographing a CRT screen I couldn't resist taking some pics:

How do you connect component cables to a PVM? The connectors look different. Do you use a special adapter or something. I'm thinking of getting one soon.

Mine to get this sharpness here, has it's flyback turned to one of it's extremes. It's going to need a new flyback soon I'm afraid.

So yea, mine isn't quite as sharp either. I wish. What MtothaJ has here, is a VERY well maintained Sony.

Do you need those BNC to Phono adaptors for all of the composite and component connectors on the back?

*Edit* Answered my own question. Picking up BNC male to RCA female adaptors now.

Thanks for the kind words guys , it actually looks a whole lot better now - the brightness was set too high for the pictures.
I am connecting to the BVM via a BNC-->female Scart cable from Retro Gaming Cables. And to that I plug in either a Supergun / Neo Geo MVS or the Mega Drive, both outputting RGB via Scart.
I have also ordered a Hama AV100-S Scart switchbox which will basically mean that you can have up to three systems hooked up to the monitor without constantly removing / wearing out the cables.
While you can connect via component or s-video to the monitor and it will still look really good, I think that the whole point is to go for the RGB - it definietly is worth the effort.

Definietly not a good deal - its a very basic model with no RGB input which sort of defeats the whole purpose of getting such a monitor in the first place, price is extremely high also.

I got a 10 pack of them for about $5 from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261189405640

Just got them in the other day and they work like a charm so I just thought I'd give a heads up.

For that price you might as well import any old multisync trinitron from Europe, plus, you don't need cable converters as it would have the SCART socket directly. Maybe a step down transformer, or not as most equipment here in Europe work from 100-240V anyway.
