Been pretty buizy the past couple weeks, Got the Galactica and the Pegasus already for storage. Still have been beatin on/tuning Galactica, but still not there yet. With a few tweaks and parts over winter, should have both cars where I want them for sure. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...ps51ddca02.jpg Buuuuut you didnt come to this thread to check out Turbo Buicks, did you?
Recently got a lot of used video game gear, but unfortunately, doz horrible measez made a meal outta most of the controller wiring. Soooo, with a little bit a wire, a little bit of solder, and goofy cross-eyedness I began fixing and extending the wires on the controllers. First up was the SNES controller, and it turned out great. The Sega Genesis one was a bit of a PITA for some odd reason though, and one of the wires broke after I got it alllll put back together. Was testing it with Battletech, and the grey wire broke leaving the C button as start, B button fired all 3 buttons weapons, and A and start did nothing....great... Took it all back apart, made the repair and got it back going again. Then I resurrected a PS1 controller that my little brother had broken years ago. That was a bit of a pain... X_xAlso tried repairing a 2600 Paddle controller, but I must've done somethin wrong with it. I fixed the broken orange button, but the friggin paddle itself is all jittery/unresponsive during gameplay. I really should learn to read/follow directions better at some point.... >_>
Also expanded my PS1 collection to 3 this past week, and all 3 are miraculously different from one another! ::SEE PICS::
Version 1 - has Parallel I/0 (seen here with gameshark plugged in), Serial I/0, R W Y out, RFU DC out, AV multi out, and standard A/C IN
Version 2 - Did away with R W Y and RFU DC outs
Version 3 - Stripped down model, only serial I/0 and AV multi out

#1 and 2 didnt really read discs as well as they should (and 1 didnt even move at all) So I took them apart and gave them a deep scrubbin, cleaned the lasers and put a drop of that lucas gun lubricant on the gears. Now 2 is flawless, but #1 still needs to be put on its side to play properly....Was thinking about modding the stripped down one with fancy fans and LEDs, but not sure of what color I wanna go with yet...
Also came into ownership of a TurboGrafx16 - came with the box, the owners manual even the little posters n what-not that came with the console new. Only thing missing besides games? The AV cable...Ive tried looking for a new one and parts for it, but Im more likely to see Elvis crash his mothership into the Loch Ness Monster than find crap for this thing... >_>
Well, thats about it.... gonna do some more Genesis stuff soon, so I'll post more in the Genesis section on that. I know a lotta people are thinkin 'why so much time in these controllers and consoles?!' Well, like I always say 'Dont Crush em - restore em.' -Ben
