Basically "Lan Parties" are where a group of friends link their computers together to play competitively for fun. Never had the chance to experience it first hand and a lot of games these days just do everything straight up online with the exception of TF2 and other Valve games

I fired up Sonic & Allstars Racing Transformed.
PC version offers split screen performance that isn't uglier than runny shit like the 360 or PS3 versions.
PC RULES!
That's nice, now how many USB controllers do you have for your PC and how comfortable is it for everyone to sit around it? And does it offer 5 player Multiplayer like the Wii U version?
So, the PC Master Race is going to die in a horrific car crash caused by their own arrogance leaving the gaming world to the Console Gaming Peasants?

I have four long USB cables to hook USB HORI Joysticks, and an Xbox 360 wireless receiver. My PC is hooked up to the same TVs that all of my game consoles are. Should anybody, quite randomly, actually want to play a multiplayer game locally the setup is easy. Monoprice.com was the biggest facilitator really. For "3D" games I can even use my formerly Lik Sang 3-in-1 Saturn, PS1 Dreamcast adapter to use those controllers if I want.
Why do more people not do this? Programming, marketing, sticking to the norm. Barone has been educating me about third party peripherals for PS1 that I never even noticed in stores. With these joysticks, wheels and light guns and even gamepads the PS1 is virtually a different console. Why didn't I know about them? Megacorps courting retailers toward their products instead.

It has nothing to do with megacorps. I know there's plenty of controllers and joysticks out there. However it would be a complete waste to have my computer sitting in my living room at all times, and a Desktop tower isn't really that fun to lug back and forth you know.
Having your computer hooked up to a TV in your liviing room at all times makes things you do on your computer when you're not playing games on it like Word Processing, Email, Programming, Instant Messaging, web browsing, banking, etc. a pain. Your Entertainment stand while great for your TV and gaming systems does not make an ideal desk to sit at. Sure you could get a wireless keyboard and mouse and sit on your couch, but then you have the issue of tiny text that is hard to read because you're sitting too far away. Yeah you can zoom in, but now you've lost the benefits of having a higher resolution Desktop to have more workspace. It's a situation that's only ideal for gaming and watching Movies.
My setup is as comfortable as any console in a living room would be. 3 wireless xbox 360 controllers, A wireless PS3 controller. A wired 360 USB controller and an arcade stick on the side if needed. The only thing plugged in to the PC ports to make it happen is a wireless reciever for the 360 pads, and a small logitech USB adapter that I slaved both wireless K800 keyboard and M510 mouse to. It feeds the same 46 inch HDTV that the nearby 360 & PS3 does.
Sonic Racing on PC supports 4 players. You can take the party online.

On the one hand, the arguments that PCs are more expensive than consoles, were still truthful in 2006. These days though, the price is ridiculous for the performance the new consoles are pushing. PC's at their extreme right now can be 10 times more powerful than a PS4 or Xbox One. PC's that are modest and the same price as those consoles, are equally capable and better at a ton of shit.
On the other hand, if there were incredibly fun and interesting exclusives on a platform, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I just bought a PS3 for exclusives and I'm grabbing a lot of exclusive JRPGs on it right now. I actually buy games more than once for the current gen consoles, picking it up and playing it on multiple systems, sometimes buying digital copies after owning the disc. Nobody seriously considers console gamers inferior peasants.
You're aware that PCs are flexible?
Have you ever built one? They make small cases, and console-like PCs you can buy already built. It doesn't need to be ugly or cluttered.
There are plenty of options you can replace consoles with:

What does naming off a handful of exclusive console games have to do with the point that you can get a cheap PC that runs better than consoles? Is it not obvious that you don't get console exclusives on PC? Are we all brain dead and need to have that pointed out? Should I spoon feed you an obvious list of PC exclusive games and continue this pointless comparison?
GTA5 is coming to PC and you can count on it being the superior version.
The franchise also started on PC, so be thankful, peasant.
Not to derail the derail... but this is a wii-u topic. The whole PC vs gaming shitstorm should have it's own topic, because it's not specific to any one console.
