    Example

It is said that if u give mothermilk to a child while being pregnant that it can cause the child in the womb to become a handicap. Ofcourse this has been proven in the. 20th cntury as false.

But still to this day many women stop giving milk to the baby when they get pregnant again

Is that the kind of fallacie you have for example?

Cause honestly i find you both as truth. The term hardcore gamer has somany definitions.

What im trying o say is that it is based on opinion and therefor everyone is right

These are fucking video games we're talking about here after all, not politics or religious beliefs.

In my opinion, this is what modern gaming culture has done to people. It becomes a farce when people have to separate gamers as "hardcore" or "casual" or other labels. I know this type of sentiment's been around since the early days of gaming, but it's grown to absolutely ridiculous proportions over these past few years. Sentiments like these are one of the many reasons why I stay away from modern gaming and stick with the old stuff. You simply don't see this kind of stuff as often with most classic gaming fans.
Well, to clarify on my "legitimate gamer" comment I did define that for this discussion in a very selective way for trekkies and his constant dissembling, refusing to admit when he is wrong, and constantly dogging his pick of the week. I would not argue that anybody is or is not a gamer based on what kinds of games they play, or how many hours a week, or anything like that. I would not hesitate to say that in forums we have many different types of people, including mainly gaming enthusiasts, hardcore gamers, core gamers, casual gamers, and finally those who simply like to argue for the sake of arguing. I would only put that last group as deficient and less beneficial to the community.

I wouldn't even say it's an issue with modern gaming. It has more to do with people who feel the need to classify their taste in games as being superior to another person's tastes. That exists in both retro and modern gaming communities.

The hypocrisy is strong with this one.

You really have this messed up and paranoid perception of me. You say I am dissembling. I have to ask, do you even know what that word means? It means to conceal one's true motives. How the hell am I doing that? Just because I don't agree with your opinion and will debate it with you doesn't mean I have some evil hidden agenda that I'm trying to hide from everyone. This is just a video game forum, not some freaking soap opera.

If this topic was about the 32X being a failure you'd be arguing with everyone until you were blue in the face about how the 32X was the best value in 1994 and that everyone should have gone out and bought 5. We only need to look at the topics that have sprung up about that issue to see that you would indeed be that way. So it is quite hypocritical to see you talk down to people for having strong opinions about other systems when you are just as guilty when it comes to the underdog Sega Systems like the 32X, Saturn, Master System, and Dreamcast. It's quite hypocritical to see you accuse people of liking to argue for the sake of arguing, or always having to be right when you are just as guilty of those same acts when it comes to systems like the 32X or Dreamcast.

I get it, you're still mad at me because I called you a hypocrite. However, I only called you one because you were acting like one.

There's this teacher in my college which i can't stand. We're always arguing and we pretty much never agree on anything.

I tried to put him on ignore, but then i remembered that, in real life , there isn't such thing. In fact, we need to step up to the debate like a real man and acknowledge that people can/will have diferent opinions than ours.

    Isn't that something?

Yeah, it is kind of funny but I have never had anybody talk to me in person the way people like trekkies talk to me on a forum. I have had numerous arguments of this type in person though. Usually people just lie through their teeth to my face and let me know by their actions later that they disagree. It doesn't matter how open and honest I am, in text or in person, most people just love to be contrary and don't need a stated reason.

Oh wait, I do remember one person who was a living troll. He decided to constantly "prove me wrong." This was just after I showed a couple of police training videos explaining why knives or small blades are as dangerous as guns when the perp was less than 15 feet away. He would stand on the other side of a room and yell "Hey" and then point his finger like a gun and fire. He completely missed the point of the videos and chose to be a complete moron about it anyway. I gave him lots of chances to come around, but he just plain hated me and argued tooth and nail that he was the only reasonable person on earth.

This message is hidden because The Jackal is on your ignore list.

Just kidding, for me it takes repeated ignorance and not a single comment.

I very rarely put people on my ignore list, if ever. I think the whole five years I've been here, only one member was added, and he's long since been banned. I'd rather talk it out than resort to that.

I rarely put people on my ignore list too. In fact the only person I ever put on my Ignore List was Drakon and for some reason that gave a few people here the incorrect idea that I just put anyone and everyone on my ignore list for petty reasons. Go figure.

The only guy on my ignore list is Melf. I mean, who the hell that guy thinks he is? The site's owner?

    And that's the joke!
